I’m hunting a new spot this evening trying to get us at least 50 more points Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I was happy to see this guy show up last night. I haven't seen him on camera since July. I don't generally have bucks like this on camera at my farm. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
Well fellas got us 50 points - antlerless button down in Indiana - was not intended but showed up to my property and one access is through a local landscaper business area. So I park by their workers cars and walk past their rows of stock and onto mine. Well a button buck barely likely seventy pounds comes up to me while at truck. Seems fine buttons are dumb…but it won’t scare away and that’s when I noticed the ribs are all very visible, the hind hip points are protruding a LOT. I leave after a bit as I film hunts and want to get to stand and set up in advance..:well it tries to follow me. I get about fifty yards ahead of it and it panting stops and I keep walking. I get almost to where I enter a treeline and my gut hates this. put bag down and head back…thing is laying on its side legs out under shade of a tree and sees me and claws back up and I get near and it is drooling some by now. I call the business owner on phone and ask if they’ve seen this thing he said no…. it starts walking in a wide circle and stumbles a few times and finally walks right into a young tree they have near an end row…. I have seen enough and arrow the thing, it doesn’t even have power to respond, one step falls down and dies very quickly. again not the way I wanted to get a deer down…local CO has been contacted to see if DFW want head or not for testing and maybe whole deer.
I've won this contest a few times and it is VERY rare the team that wins doesn't have a team full of 50 point antlerless deer.
That sucks it was sick. But glad you were able to help put it out of its misery. Like brett said thats being a good sportsman. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk
truly was a terrible situation and feeling. When I draw on an animal it is supposed to have excitement and anticipation not pure sorrow right from the get go. Hunting report here - today was literally 80+ degrees. Big drop and front coming. Halloween is family night but Friday I’ll be trying to hunt morning till like 2pm or so before I have to take son to a school event. Deer are gonna move for sure just hope right one
My plan is to be out Thursday at least half day. Friday half day. Sat full day. Can't wait for the grind. Looking at our team. If we get all the "points" official and logged, we are in really great shape for the contest. I think we are the sleeper team no one is expecting.
Alright I'm getting a bit excited. Just need the big one to show back up in 12 hours! Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk
