I'm from Ohio for those of you that don't know me. I'm always good for a doe and usually a pretty decent buck. Not much size on camera yet but I know there's a few big boys where I'm hunting. Here's my best ones so far.
Hey Shawn and all this is blackbear checking in , Shawn good to be working with you again, have the dogs ready. I had a nice eight point walk but the back barn and seven does driving out this morning so everything looks promising. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Three checked in, 6 to go. I hope everyone is just busy and haven't looked yet. Where is it that you hunt blackbear, I can't remember.
Hi everyone, I’m Randy from Illinois. Look forward to enjoying the season with all of you. I only shoot fawns.
I know we are just under 1/2 checked in, but when does your season start? Will you just be hunting your home state or some out of state hunts as well? For me it's my home stomping grounds. Season starts Saturday, September 27th. Yes, I'll be in a stand opening day!
Friday I'll be putting out 150 pounds of corn and checking my 2 cams. Hopefully I'll have a few new visitors on there.
My season starts Oct 1st. I will only be hunting my home state of Illinois. I bow hunt Public Hunting Ground. Last year I had a shoulder injury so I hunted with a crossbow but thank god Im healed and Im back to shooting my bow again this season. Got a couple of bucks from last year still there that I will have my eye on to show up on cameras soon. I moved cameras there to new spots a few days ago. Got this one on cam so far.
for some reason, this season I only have one 100% shooter (4.5+ / 150+) on cam so far. Granted, I only put out one cell cam back in July and then 5 additional cell cams a week ago (all in central Sconnie, I don't put out inventory cams in MI as it's public land and not patternable) but last year I prob had more than a half dozen 140-180+ class bucks on the regular by this time. Only thing I can think of it's been very wet this year compared to last so our water tanks are not quite the draw they would have been last year.
Soŕry for the checkin delay. Im Jesse here in Central Arkansas. I should be good for a doe and if i can shoot straight this year ill get a buck too. Recovering from a cracked knee cap at the moment but doc said i SHOULD be back for season opener or at least shortly thereafter.
I think that both feet got caught underneath a board inbetween 2 cabinets as i went to step. Luckily i didnt realize i was falling until i hit the ground. I say luckily becuse i didnt try to cstch myself of break my fall which could have resulted in possibly tearing something or breaking the cap in 2. Hitting it squarely resulted in a hairline fracture meaning no surgery to repair. Praise the Lord!
Its definitely slowed down my scouting efforts and camera sets, but it just means im gonna have to alter my approach just a touch. Expectations are still high
