So I've decided not to call it a season, there's just too much time left to fill my last buck tag. Anyone have any luck in december in harvesting a mature buck? Obviously I should hunt food sources, but I've never bow hunted this late in the season before, what specific food sources are available?

I'm also thinking about completely changing tactics, as in hunt areas I've never set foot in and maybe resort to a spot and stalk after gun season is over, that also includes maybe hunting from a natural ground blind. My goal is to be MUCH more stealthy than ever before, so I might not view bedding areas as off limits anymore. If you guys have any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate some advice

Good luck Mike. A few years ago I killed a nice buck at the end of December. Funny story, I gave a loud "Baaaaaaa" at a doe to see if she would come my way. Well not only did she turn my way, but another big doe and this buck came running in from out of nowhere, and I dropped him. I sat in disbelief!
I think sometimes, they're just looking for company.
Try anything, right now, rattling and grunting can still work.

I'm heading back out this weekend, hoping to connect on a buck still looking for those last hot ladies :)
I would be happy to see this guy, he's got some character! I pray he made it through the gun season.

Hey guys....just checking back in. PA archery ended 2 weeks ago and I've not been online a ton. Wasnt a good season for me.....sorry for not adding to the team score. I only had 2 small bucks within shooting range the entire season. One was a 4 pt that is not legal in Pa. The other was a real small 6 that I probably should've taken a crack at, but wasnt sure about the shot so I let him pass. Hindsight is always 20/20 i guess.
Took a 40 yd shot at a doe the last weekend, but ended up having my string clip my binoculars and sent the arrow off course. Dumb mistake on my part.
Rifle season opens here on Monday, so I'll be out for that. If I can knock one down with the gun early....then I'll take the bow back out. And i still have a small chance in late archery if the weather holds out. Lately, it's been pretty crappy around here.
Best of luck to those still out at it.

Well I'll be working some overtime tomorrow but so far I'm good for Saturday and Sunday. Can't wait to get back out in the woods. It feels like its been forever since I've been there.

    Get out there Rem!!

Our second gun season is going on right now (4 days). Gonna be extremely cold for them for the next 2 days.
Hopefully the weather gets tolerable after that, cuz I'm not done!

What happened to Brent? I know he was saving his good spots for the rut, curious about his sightings?

Negative 10 this morning up here. Suppose to be that cold through the weekend. This guy will be in a ground blind with muzzleloader in hand and at least 3 cans of propane for the Mr Buddy.

Its been a few months since Brent has posted anything..... Hope everything is ok.
