I'll be out in the morning hunting the edge of a huge thick bedding area, the wind is perfect and things are really heating up around here ( not the weather lol).

 

Well good luck to everyone headed out. I on the other hand will be strategizing. Just got a new job 2 hours away. Need to get the house ready to put on the market, find a new one, and oh yeah put down a wall hanger all in the next 3 weeks

I don't mind the wind as long as its the right direction. Covers up my little noises. Man it's cold this morning. Frost warning last night made sure if it. Hopefully it means the deer will be up and moving today. Good luck guys.

I ended up spending yesterday fixing the furnace. It quit working during the night. So couldn't get out yesterday. I will for sure be hitting the wood tomorrow morning though. I'm really bummed about missing yesterday and today because its perfect conditions here in RI this weekend.

I can't stand windy days, I'm sitting in it right now. From my experience, the deer just don't move!
In fact , I have a doe bedded 55 yards from me, she's been there for 3 hours. With the wind, I know I could put the stalk on her , but she's just over the fence line
If she gets up and comes this way, she dies!

 

The wind really picked up today here. Supposed to be this way all through tomorrow.

 

Just checked again and the winds aren't supposed to be too bad in the morning. Phew was sweating there for a min because its sustained 20mph gusting to 32 right now. Yuck

 

Well I had to leave my phone in the truck on the charger. Decided to call it a little short this morning. Saw 2 does that scooted around me at about 70 yards out. Nothing else but squirrels and dampness. Oh well hopefully next weekend will be better for me.

 

Gotta go get ready for some pics with girlfriend and her son. Good luck for those that are out today.
