I have a question for you guys. Like I told you guys earlier, I'm in my 2-3 week intermission from hunting. I'm just flat out, staying out of the woods. However, I got to thinking today. Would it be a poor decision for me to enter a few spots relatively close to buck bedding (somewhere around 20-30 yards) and build a natural ground blind or two that I wouldnt hunt until after the first week of november? They're spots that I've always wanted to hunt in the past, but can't find trees good enough to climb with my climber, and they're relatively thick areas near swamps. I'd do it either tuesday or thursday and stay out for another 3 weeks. Let me know what you guys think

I say go for it dude. Couldn't hurt too bad if its area you wanna hunt but have no other means to. If you let them sit for awhile I think you'll be fine. Besides at least you're hunting it then. Better than not hunting it at all if you ask me.

Remember that during the rut you are not hunting buck areas. Your hunting does areas. Bucks in the next 2 weeks will start traveling up to 2 square miles is there home range. The reason why i stay out is not to educate the does

I like that advice. Do you think pre-rut buck activity will still mostly happen in darkness? or would you say the bucks will start to show themselves during shooting hours once november rolls around?

Wow thats a bruiser! Most of the shooting time activity I've seen in previous seasons has been around nov 19th in my area, plus or minus a day or two. However, last season I almost killed an 8 pointer on oct 31. He was the only buck I saw until november 23rd

I'm not going out this weekend. Temps in the low 80's, scattered storms, just not worth it. Another week and it's supposed to drop 20*, thinks should be getting rolling very soon.
Good luck to you guys hittin it this weekend!

Well I put down a buck tonight. I shot it around 7:00pm, but I wanted to give it 3 hours before looking for it. I'll post pics and score tomorrow.

Thanks guys. It all came together last night. I had deer around me the entire time. I actually drew on a doe earlier in the hunt, but she busted me. Now it's time to tag a doe.
