Best of luck to you in the morn bro. Be safe out there. I wish I were going out but can't afford to pass up overtime, especially this time of year. :D

Warm temps, rain, and family obligations are going to keep me out of the woods this weekend. What does everyone else have planned?

Heading to Charleston, SC to visit the wife's granddaddy. He has a brain tumor and not expected to last much longer. So we are going to see him while he is still doing ok. He used to hunt a lot so I am taking him some back straps for supper this weekend.

I think I'm going to declare tuesday as my final early season push for doe number 2. I'll hunt the AM and PM and then take a few weeks off to let the woods calm down, even if I don't shoot one. I'm starting to see a decline in deer activity so I think its best to just stay out of the woods for me. Last season I went about 10 consecutive sits in October without even seeing a tail flick and I think it was because of my hunting pressure.

The wife is getting mad that I haven't done any bird hunting with her yet so I'll be chasing grouse this weekend. I guess we could be arguing about worse subjects. Lol

    That's not too bad!

I'm heading to Southern Illinois in the morning. Still debating on which spot to go to, but it's supposed to rain all night Saturday then clear up just before daylight, with colder temps. Good chance some animals will be on their feet.
    Good luck Terrors :tu:

    Good luck dude!

I decided to not go out this morning. Everything is soaked from a pretty heavy rain we had overnight and there is possibility of scattered rain throughout the day. More than likely gonna hit it tomorrow even if the weather doesn't change.

Sitting in my truck in the pouring rain, I got 9 gobblers about 50 yards in front of me.
I have a tag, but my landowner has a soft spot for these silly birds and won't let me hunt them.
    What a drag!

I just recently heard one of the New England states, I think Maine, is putting a bounty on turkeys because they've become such a problem. Lol.

You don't know how tempting it was Rock!

Rem, that's pretty wild. We don't have those kind of numbers here, but I would love to take one once in a while.
My other properties I can shoot em, but of course I rarely see them over there.
Funny thing is that he doesn't hunt, but just likes seeing them, go figure!
