Well I got in the stand later than I wanted too this morning. However I had not been in the stand 10 minutes when 4 does and a little buck come out in the field. Unfortunately for me they were about 100 yds away with no intention of coming my way. About 30 minutes after that a spike take a stroll about 70 yds away. Seeing deer is nice but it would be nicer if they were closer. Lol. Good luck guys. Hopefully good news will come soon.

    Doe has been entered guys.
I never killed a deer this early before, feels pretty good to be filling the freezer already :)

Saturday I didn't see a single deer. Sunday, I woke up to pouring rain, I think it rained all night. When it started to slow down, it was already light out, about 6:30 am. I grabbed the climber and my bow and hustled to a tree literally 30 yards from the cabin.
It's a perfect funnel and I knew there was a good chance deer would be moving any minute.
I was up in the tree no more than 15 minutes, when I see 4 does coming from my right. Passing me at 20 yards, I drilled the lead doe. That's it, pure luck, perfect wind and a double lung shot equals one big doe in the freezer! :woot:

Very awesome Fred! Super short sit and a great sized slicky for the freezer. Nicely done bro.

Sorry I took so long guys, I was hoping to give you guys the story and a photo last night or early this morning but I've been pretty busy trying to get that deer butchered out. Yesterday was opening day for us in CT, I went out for a morning hunt and was able to come to full draw on a doe that kept wandering around my stand. Unfortunately, she never gave me much of a shot so I had to pass on her. Yesterday afternoon I decided to hunt a new, 140 acre property that I had never hunted before. I only scouted it twice earlier in the summer and had a pretty good idea as to their travel routes but had yet to experience the deer activity for myself. I got in the woods around 2:30 and set up on the edge of a south facing hill, right where it came into contact with a swamp. There were some pretty heavily traveled routes along the base of that hill so I set up in between two highways. I didnt see a single deer until this doe showed herself around 6:28pm. She walked directly toward my my stand and took a hard left, walking right into my shooting lane at 18 yards. I stopped her and sent an arrow through her. She ran about 100 yards, surprisingly, but left one hell of a blood trail. Heres the best pic I took of her, she was laying in a pool of blood when I found her.

Thanks Fred. No issue on recovery last night, thankfully. Perfect double lung, she was a dead deer running. I gave her 2 hours to rest and die after shooting her. We took up the blood trail around 8:30, but ended up getting turned around in some thick laurel while dragging her, and didnt get her hung up in the back yard until around 11. My best guess, I could be totally wrong but I think she weighed around 125-135. I do know that she was not fun to drag out.

Very nice sized doe Mike! Congrats again brother. Very well done. That's a great shot you put on her aswell.

I'm hoping to at least add a doe to our points list and my freezer this weekend. I just gotta have them come a little closer next time out. Haha.

I'm pretty curious about this aswell. I used my Mr. November last season twice but not with any strategy really. I'm not sure about the proper techniques for using them and would like to learn also.
