Hey guys Isaac checking in here from northern ohio. I've been real busy with school and missed the sign ups, but now that it's slowing down a little bit I'm glad I got on a team. I'm not as active on the boards a I used to be but my older brother Siman/OH post stuff up about our properties about everyday if you follow that. I'm real excited for the season and hopefully I can contribute some points to the team. Around here there is always a off chance to see a monster on our properties, my little brother shot a 199" 14 point several years ago so the chance is always there.

Havent been on in awhile.....Work, family been keeping me pretty busy. Good to see an active group so far.
I put some cameras out on the new property I'm hunting this year about 2 weeks ago. Should have a chance to get out and check them Thursday afternoon. Hope to have some pics to share. that's about all for me.

Good luck to those whose seasons are starting early.....get us on the board early!

I am going to be out this Saturday morning. It's like the last couple days before Christmas as a kid. I can't hardly stand it.

    Almost that time......

What last minute prep does everyone have left to do? Got my clothes all washes and prepped last night. Just a few practice shots each night and I am ready to get it......

I'm busting out all my small gear and doing the check of it all this weekend. I may have a couple small things to pick up but not much.

Same here. Tonight I'll write a check list, and continue to add to it throughout the next 9 days if I think of anything. I think as of right now, I'm only going to need to buy a couple things before the season. A few new hoist ropes, maybe some scent control products and I'd like to get a new early season camo shirt and pants. Mine from last season are still useable but they're beat up.

Going back to your question a week ago, I thought of a few that I forgot to mention:
    1) This season I'll be writing journal entries after every hunt. I'll record my times in and out of the woods, sighting, weather, temp, and maybe a short blurb about my experience.
    2) I will refuse to bring my can of chew into the stand this year- I got busted on four specific occasions last year at the exact moment I opened a can to throw in a dip. One doe must have been 10 yards from my stand and I never knew it until she busted me. I cant imagine how many deer could smell me from off in the distance that never came closer for me to see.
    3) I'm going to keep my distance from bedding areas in the early season and ONLY hunt spots that have the perfect wind. Last season I recall hunting marginal winds a lot. I think I schooled the deer early.

My main target for this year so far. It's a decent size 8pt for this area. No monster but not bad either. Also have seen a couple smaller bucks, but this is the nicest to date. Again, first year hunting this property, so not much history.

I started a journal a few years ago. For whatever reason I didn't write anything down last year. I am going to start it up again this season.
