Heading to northern missouri to squeeze in a few sets. Hoping they are moving better there than my neck of the woods..
My weekend was uneventful. Took a buddy with me. He saw 2 bucks and I saw one unidentified deer. Wind was blowing a consistent 15-20mph so i'm not sure if that hurt us.
I was out this morning, saw a Coyote but didn't have a good shot. Other than that the Church is running hay rides on the neighboring properties until dark so no dice on the afternoon hunt. I will be out tomorrow night but the action has been slow.
Doe only hunts suck totally. I went out this afternoon to get my buck tag for next year and the only deer I saw was the buck I've been after.Please excuse me but I'm going to go drink the pain away
I actually didnt hunt all weekend guys, just hung with the family. We had warm weather and decided to plan some family activities instead.
Had the same 10 point I saw opening morning within 50 yards tonight but he never got closer and no clean shot. Could have smoked a cute little 6 pointer just minutes later. The action was picking up tonight, when I got out of stand and walked back I could make out a few deer in the cornfield to the South of where I sat, they also saw me Starting Sunday I am off until the 18th of November and the remaining corn crop is being taken out before next week so the woods should have more action. I am getting antsy
Well on the 17 I took another doe..decent sized about 120lbs but what I can't believe is I didn't get a pic with the deer...guess all the BS on my mind I just forgot..but I have 2 tags left for my county 1 more doe and a big mossy horn giant I hope

Put in for vacation from 30th of october to the 10th of november. Expected to be denied but it was ok'd. Off to northern missouri the 29th wake up with the youngin and see if we can get her on a deer. Then after that the woods are all mine. Hoping the daughter scores the big one more than myself though. As pumped as she was about a doe last year I look forward to when she gets her first buck.
Hey guys. Just checking in. Nothing too eventful here yet. Hunting time has more limited than prior years.....too many irons in the fire so to speak. I have seen plenty of deer when I have hunted including a few 3 1/2's but nothing that will probably score much more than 120-125". Passed two that fit the above category this evening. Lots of season left. Good luck to all and congratulations to those that have already scored.
It was an interesting day. It started at 5:30 when I was getting ready at my truck for the morning hunt. I heard some rattling in the field next to me. I thought it was some other hunter messing with me but when I hit the light there were 2 small bucks about 70 yards away from me . I think one of them walked by about 7. Then tonight I did some rattling I started looking arournd and all of a sudden I see an antler. 43 yards out. Thats all I can see the right side, I lean out just to make sure,yup 130" 8. He stood there until it got dark.
I was sicker than a dog this morning and barely made it out this evening. Jumped a small buck and two does that were right under my stand. Vacation started today so I will be off until November 19th.

Once Joey gets his buck scored and posted we will be in pretty good shape for the home stretch of November! I think we have enough points to be in 2nd or 3rd place once Joey enters his buck that is.
Took this picture this morning of a small 6 pointer that was 30 yards out with my Droid. Hung a new set where I have been seeing doe activity at night, if I get a shot later I'll be adding 50 points unless a shooter shows up.
