It has been a busy weekend. 8 new ladder stands put together. I'm officially sick of doing it. I've been putting down some doves. I hunt basically anything in season. Would love some early goose if I come across some. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
I am also an avid Trapper. Looking forward to putting the hurt on some beavers, muskrat and mink. Also will try to put down some egg eaters and coyotes Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
I will miss the beaver trapping but plan on cats, fox, and yotes here in New Mexico and over Christmas will run a small coon and coyote line in Missouri. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know MBcoyote season has already started, and I know when Missouri starts, when does everyone else’s season start? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I live in Nebraska - season started Sept 1 private land in Missouri - Sept 15 but probably wont get a hunt in until a week or two into Oct. I'm going to try to run down to cabin in another 2 weeks for 1 last camera chip swap and pick another 50 pounds of apples I set up a ground blind last week on our food plot, our food plot is about 2 acres and it was planted YEARS ago with a clover mix. The neighbor farmer bails it, it still gets good usage and has our orchard down the east side of it. What we call the orchard is one large pear tree and 8? apple trees. attached picture is outline of our property and a picture is from about a month ago on the road facing North on the east side of the property. KEY Red: our land Blue: Pasture I want to buy Yellow: fruit trees. What we don't have is actual ag on our property. The property line on the south of the "food plot" is in corn, the ag field west of the road is corn and the ag straight east is corn, SE is beans
When our northern MO property has corn, I have always had really good success. More so than beans for whatever reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Do y’all do anything to make your timber more conducive to bedding? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
we have a power company right of way where they come in and clear cut that once they are done, which is every 5-7 years we seed and let go, its kind of a sanctuary for them of tall grasses. It is the furthest south East West green circled area. We planted a bunch of cedars around the footplot area and the intersection of 135th and 140th is grown up nicely and it bedded heavily. The pasture with trees in it (we don't own... yet) is a bedding mecca, there is even water in there under the biggest block of trees. Then North of the road is an area we just don't ever go because we know a couple bucks bed there, since we know they use it as is we haven't messed with it much. We have not done any hinge cutting or anything but the red area has a lot of cedars in it that they bed under. We have a lot of stands in this timber, you'd be surprised how diverse the timber is so as small as it is, but the pink spots are the best producing stand locations we have.
Hey guys, I went out to the property over the weekend. Put up all my safety ropes, swapped camera cards, and did some lane trimming. I’m hoping to finish going through them and will post any good ones I’ve got!
As far as names.. im a fan of the Oliver Anthony angle. It’s random and I like that. As far as captain. I don’t care who does it. If no one ponies up I will but have no idea what it entails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got the land bushhogged and roads cleared back in Alabama. We will plant the 16th and pray for rain. The corn is growing at full speed on our lease in Missouri and the deer are hammering it down. Landowner hates them and I hate hunting corn. Much rather have beans but it is what it’s is and we will make it work. Just tougher to get the shot up tight like that.
I love hunting corn right after it’s harvested I have shot my 3 biggest bucks that way. I don’t really get to hunt before late October because of work so I don’t ever hunt when it’s up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
