I’m good with whatever team name you guys want. As far as captain I’m fine with anyone but myself lol. Besides working full time I also write for several magazines and companies. Which keeps me as busy as I want to be.
Sorry for the quick check in before, I'm a busy guy. I hunt mostly WI private land but will wander onto public occasionally. I haven't checked my cameras yet this year but we usually have a couple great deer wandering around. I'm usually good for a doe, I've been in a buck drought as of late but optimistic that I'll have a solid season this year. I'm fine with any name you guys choose. No desire to be captain either, been there done that. I'm not on the forum enough anymore to justify the prestigious role of team captain. Season starts mid September, hoping to make it out for the opener. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk
I have no cameras out. During my brother wedding I was in MO and saw a good ten point on my father in laws house. I would rather him shoot it. Bucks on that place are completely random. I have killed a good old 11 pt on that property but mostly just does. He doesn’t do anything to manage it and the guy south does so it’s more just fun. I plan on taking my 4 yr old(soon to be 5) out during the early die only rifle there with the suppressed .308. Then go out with the bow for a bit in October. Our property in north mo is where big bucks are and we target bucks. 3 years ago killed a 167”. No cameras there either since I can’t get back to pull cards and I just don’t really wanna spend money on cell cams. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Last year was one of the first years I didn't get one with a bow but I did have an amazing opening weekend of shotgun season tagging a 13 point opening morning and then a stud 8 pointer the next morning on our farm. Hoping the luck continues this year! Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
One of these can be our team symbols if we go poor men south of portland Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
just got to cabin property to swap some camera chips and replace batteries etc have seen 9 deer in minutes also going to pick a mess of apples to make chips
I’m tired of remodeling and living out of boxes. Currently have my entire kitchen out of commission as we spray cabinets and the garage is almost taken up with drop cloths for the cabinet doors. We also don’t have 2 of the three bathrooms. We have a third of our stuff while the rest is in storage and the stuff we have is in one room. Should be better by the end of the week. During transit to here and this last week, I haven’t been able to shoot my bow at all. Before I was shooting 50-70 arrows, 5 times a week. I plan on starting that back up with lifting as well on Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Missouri yes. So the cameras werent as good as I was hoping. a couple with dead batteries, a couple had straps rot and fall out of tree.. very frustrated forgive the picture of a screen here but all i have here is a super old laptop with no internet
Tomorrow’s gonna be the day. 4 shooters today so they weren’t flyin a lot but I got 10 more tomorrow. Seed drill is worth every penny
i wish i had land i could dove and pheasant hunt on, such deliciousness just out there waiting to be shot
Is anyone doing any other hunting this year? I can’t elk hunt this year bc of the move. I will try to get a mountain lion or bear though. I will also be doing some trapping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
just archery deer for me, the MO archery permit comes with 2 any deer and 2 turkey so maybe a turkey if one walks by during a deer hunt. I'm a little worried about time this year. The side of the business I work for is doing a restructure (not worried about losing job) and I will have a different job this fall. Ill either be doing pretty much the same thing with mostly the same people which will have minimal change to my schedule OR I'll be happy with a much higher paying job that would roll out around rut...
No more big game hunts this year but will for sure be chasing honkers and green heads when I’m not deer hunting. I also dabble in trapping.
Both muskrat, coon, fox, and coyote are my main critters. Especially coon they are thick and do a lot of damage to the local turkey population.
When I was in North Carolina I got 10 dollars a carcass for coons. They were eating them. I would take a week off from work and long line for coons. My goal was 100 I usually would get around 120-150. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
