You might wanna wait on congratulations until you see the photos… turns out that “small” was a bit overoptimistic..

    50 points is 50 points

I've shot a fawn that just lost its spots in a similar situation, came in alone, knew it wasn't huge but didn't know it was a small dog sized deer...

On a scale of dogs I’d rate it one and one-half basset hounds.

think I previously said this but I had some clearance issues with my vanes and cables so I swapped up the vanes.
I'm trying out some AAE Hybrid 23's, shot them on my Easton 6.5's on Sunday and they shot great. While with the old vanes I was seeing the arrows at different angles in the target indicating wonky flight. These were all in the target at the same angle, straight. Just today I fletched some of my Easton Axis' and will try to shoot them this weekend and make finally decision on what I'll use to hunt the next weekend.

A hunting buddy whose kids are grown gave my son (all my kids) his daughters old Fuse FreeStyle kids bow (yes its pink) but my 9 year old son has started shooting pretty well but it needs, to clarify, NEEDS new string/cables but I can't find any like off the shelf for it as its older. I'm emailing a couple places because this isn't an option listed on any sites trying to find someone that'll help out a kid.
60X not helpful at all, first thing they said was go to ebay.... thanks bud!

This same buddy was excited to see some videos I put on facebook of my son shooting and is giving him one of his glendel buck targets. After school/work we're loading up and going to go pick it up. Its well used but they have replacement cores and its getting my son excited.

My bow shop makes custom strings in house. I’d try to find somewhere like that.

Also, I know one of the string makers does sells custom length cables and strings, just don’t remember which it is. I imagine that there is a special way to measure them but a decent bow shop, even if they didn’t make strings in-house, would probably at least have somebody on staff that would know the correct way to measure your current cables and strings and order the right size. Might be more costly than getting some that are already pre-made for the bow but still cheaper than buying a different bow. So that’s an option.

I am assuming you’ve already checked ABB? If not check there, they might have it. I used to have a bow that 60x didn’t do strings for but ABB did. Seems like at the time their knowledge/catalog of bow makes/models was a lot more extensive than 60X’s was. When I used them I never had an issue with their strings, although by that I’m mainly just saying that they didn’t break on me or stretch a lot and they shot fine and lasted a while (I doubt I’m good enough to actually be capable of telling the difference between one set of strings and another, unless there was something seriously wrong with them). Haven’t used them in a while since my shop started making their own strings, but I can’t imagine they aren’t still good strings. It wouldn’t hurt to check and see if they have your model of bow if you haven’t done so already.

I know the length of the strings and cables. I emailed Hoyt (owns Fuse) and they gave it to me.
ABB DOES have the ability to make strings and cables for it, but again this is a kids bow and the cheapest ABB is ?$120?
I'm going to try to find cheaper first. I have custom strings on my bow from a maker in my old hometown, I emailed him and if he can do it "cheap" I'll go with him.

Back at it this morning, sitting over an open field with scrapes all over the edges. Hopefully something decides to check them!

$120!! Wholly cow. That’s some expensive ass cordage right there. Not even the archery industry is safe from bidenomics.

Got skunked this morning, so time to switch things up. Hung a new set midday on a ridge and am sitting there now. Fingers crossed I have some action tonight!

Well I at least had some action tonight. Ended up seeing 3 small doe, none close enough for a shot, and a small buck. Back at it tomorrow morning, I’ll let you all know what happens.

Was a really cold morning today, and the deer should have been up and moving, but I didn’t see a thing. I’ll be heading back up Wednesday afternoon for the weekend and the pre-rut should be going strong.
