Also happy to give a little but about myself.

My name is Justin and I'm 38. I live in LeRoy Illinois. I'm married to my beautiful wife and have three kids: Trapper, Beau and Banks. I'm born and raised in Central Illinois and I'm blessed to have access to a lot of pieces of land.

I'm the Director of Member Services for a large electric cooperative and I also am an EMT in the town I live in. I love having two jobs that I am passionate about.

I've been bowhunting since I was 17 and love to do that as well as shotgun hunt for deer. I'm an avid Trapper and pretty well hunt anything that is in season. Doves open up this Friday and plan on smacking those this weekend.

I'm fairly selective when it comes to what bucks I take but try to get a doe or two early in the season to fill the freezer.

I'm up for connecting with the the group through a text thread as well as on here. Whatever works for everyone!

Checking in! Season started yesterday already. So I'm up in a tree today hunting. I'm married, no kids, have multiple private and public land options. It feels great to be in a tree!

Hey guys, checking in. I’m Jesse. Most ppl call me wedes (last name is wedemeyer). I’m 37, married with 2 kids. My son is about to turn 5 and my daughter is 2. We just moved to New Mexico. Just got here yesterday. Next couple weeks will be setting up the house. I’m in the military which is the reason for the move. I hunt deer in Missouri where my residency still is and where I grew up. I have a couple trips planned this year. Also like hunting spring bear, turkey and elk. I’m also really big into trapping and have had a side hustle making good money taking care of coyotes, coons and beaver for a while.
I shoot a bowtech realm ss with black eagle arrows and magnus broadheads. Super excited to hunt this year since I was deployed all fall hunting season. I did get a bear in Idaho right after I got back but need to fill the freezer.

Yes it’s my 5th move so I kinda know what I’m doing but it still sucks. I hunt near shelbyville at deer camp the first 2 weeks of November. I will be hunting in Benton county a lot to at my in-laws as well.

FYI, if you ever consider changing your residency buy a lifetime hunting license in your previous state before you change residency. In most states, when you buy a resident lifetime license, it is valid for your lifetime, regardless of whether you change your residency in the future.

When you compare the cost of a resident lifetime license vs a non-resident annual license the break even point is usually around 2-3 years. Plus you still get resident status after you move so when you apply for things like controlled access hunts and special hunts where there is a lottery to get the tag or privilege you get to apply as a resident. (Most of that stuff is weighted so that residents have far better odds than non-residents).

Hey guys, checking in. My name is Chris, I’m 37 and have twin 12 year old boys. They join me in the woods quite often and plan to take hunters safety this fall/winter to be ready to hunt next year. I hunt mostly private land in central WI, but the property butts right up to public so I venture over there a bit too. Can’t wait to get this season started and get back out in the woods!

all but 1 have checked in but he has plenty of time.

I used to work for a company in central Wisconsin and would travel up to Stevens Point from time to time and there were deer everywhere.

Most states I have lived in don’t have lifetime licenses. The other two I’m not going back to hunt there. I am super excited about have resident status for New Mexico bc they have some awesome hunting and the lotteries are weighted for residents. I’m also putting in for the combat veteran oryx tag which is on range and a real chance at a monster. It’s an almost guaranteed draw too.

Hard to think of original names after all these years of participating. Just throwing it out there. We could shake it up and just do something random like...

    Shake and Bake
    Average Joe's
    Here for a good time
    Lucky Hunters

That's about all the creative juice I have after a long day of work lol
