Back home in Indiana now. Was just in Arkansas and MO with my cousin for the weekend. Spent most of that time in the NE corner of AR on his lease

With the way you described a few things it seems like it could of been liver/gut hit. If that’s the case, he should be dead by now.

yeah, I was going to say that didn't look the same as the pic you posted (dead deer appears to have longer brows and wider spread), and also looks like it's been in the water longer than just overnight.

Yeah quite the swing of emotions. Hate giving up on a track but I just dont have the extra time to allow right now. I'm wrong for even shooting that buck. He wasnt even one I really wanted to shoot. I regret it.

If you've been hunting long enough, I think we've all done that at least once. Just get back out there and get some redemption!

Hang tough man, it’s happened to us all at some point in time. Shake it off. Tomorrow is another hunt. There had to be one to make him.

These deer are driving me nuts. I don't think I've ever waited this long to see good day time movement. Night time is awesome, pics galore! 0 day time pics with the exception of a spike buck every day between 1 and noon. Very frustrating season for me. Even the doe's are nocturnal. I'm just hoping any day that will change big time!

My guess is the does are locking down because they know they’re about to go into estrus and they’re not ready to mate yet. And the bucks are likely staying close to them making them not want to move.
Last week I would not see anything and then I would see a group of 7-10 does all together. It was like they were gathering up to avoid the bucks because many of them still had their yearlings with them and were still protective of them. A lot will change over the next week or so, so don’t get burnt out. It’s easy to get burned out when you hunt hard in this stage of the rut. Stage 4 will be here before you know it so be ready !

First set of my rutcation I only even saw 1 deer and that was as I was walking to my stand for afternoon hunt. I had 0 sightings on stand. Hopefully when round 2 of rutcation starts Saturday and ends Sunday the ninth, that will all change. I'd obviously like to fill my buck tag, but I need a couple more doe as well. Good luck to you all. Hopefully our thread starts blowing up with pictures of bucks!

Alright guys and gals it’s about game time ! Let’s get focused and get some carnage on the ground. We need to paint it red and get some points. We have a good start we just need to finish it. If you want a doe now is the time to take it. Don’t wait till the rut comes in and give in and shoot one. Get her down now if you can. Good luck to everyone and stay ready. The best is yet to come. Stage 4 is within site.
