What's everyone's prospects look like this weekend? We have some work to do. I'll be trying to top the freezer off with the rifle. We do have a "lesser weapon" rule in Wisconsin so that I can fill my rifle tag with a bow during rifle or muzzleloader season. It's pretty tough to do with the bullets flying but I usually have an uptick of rutting activity the first week of December where it is possible. I've tried that last few years without luck but I'd love to say I've shot two wisconsin bucks with my bow in one year. Not many people can say that!

I still have my bonus buck tag and a rifle/muzzleloader buck tag. I usually hunt all seasons with just my bow. If i would have got those 2 other bucks back in October, i would have been tagged out before November. Im still going to go back and look for them again. I have a feeling one of them is dead. But as of now not really looking for a buck, unless i stumble into one. Mostly just looking for 1 more doe, then i will be buck only til end of season.

    You just need more practice.

I got tired of having to hold a light and started putting a Streamlight flashlight in my Tactacam bow mount.

I work this weekend coming so no hunting for me. I’m planning on taking the muzzleloader out next week for the two days I’m able to hunt. Haven’t shot a buck with a gun since I was like 13. But I’ll be honest I’m feeling a little burnt and want a change of pace. If we were even close to catching the other teams I wouldn’t even consider it. My dad loves gun season and I feel bad not ever out there with him. I have taken my bow in the past but it’s just not the same. So gonna send it and see what happens. In it for the camaraderie.

I'll be out at some point this weekend. The wife brought covid home from work, so hopefully deer don't mind all my coughing.

The BowTech is in the shop for warranty limbs, which could apparently take a month. I guess I'll be crossbow only for the time being.

Yikes. Did something hit it? Or did it delimitate on its own? I love my Bowtech, but did have one that went thru 3 sets of limbs in its life.

No idea, I just noticed it after the shoulder shot. It is a 2015 so I did better than most BowTechs.

Muzzy in VT starts on the 7th and I will be out with the smoke pole looking for a Doe.

As for Bow hunting, I can only shoot a Doe in VT, so probably won't do anymore archery there. I'll be back in NJ in January and will probably move to state land where I can shoot a Buck and unlimited antlerless.

Think it was like that before the shot, and didn't notice it?

This doe is 12 yards from the blind. The blind we left at 9am. Little guy didn't last long at 26° this morning.

It's possible. I hit about 6 inches high and left from where I was aiming.

My kids and I had the same thing on Saturday. I do have a heated elevated shooting house that the previous owner left. I hate hunting out of it because I feel like I can't see anything and I know I can't hear anything. Instead of sitting there I gambled that my kids could take the 10 degree weather and wind. They didn't last long and a good buck strolled through about 30 minutes after we left. He was the one I was looking for as he just showed up and was new to me. Good right side with a base flyer and a left side that looked to have just one large 14 inch blade. This was in the pm so we should have been late! I've never left before dark in my life unless I filled a tag. Lesson learned I guess.

I only have this weekend to take a buck and then it's doe only for me. Sounds like some of you guys need a little recharge. Most places have a lot of time left and a good food source can be killer this time of year. The later the better really. Take a little time off make a gameplan when your heart its back into it. Just remember that you will have a mandatory 8-9 months off soon unless you enjoy offseason poaching of course. We already covered the spot light thing and it's hard to brag about bucks shot in July! Good luck!

I had a bowtech blow up in my hands a couple years ago. What did I do? Went and bought another bowtech! I chalk that up to being Polish.

So I got a new phone and it says this app is no longer available in the App Store? Won’t let me download or find it. Weird. I’ll have to use my old phone to hop on here so I probably won’t be as active. If I get a buck I won’t ghost you guys though. Took the muzzleloader yesterday and only seen bobcat and doe. Gonna go again this weekend then back to bowhunting if I don’t get anything

HA! I like the way they shoot and I'm used to them. I think a beaten housewife has said that a time or two as well!
