Skinned pics count... right? I finally broke out of the slump last night with a decent sized doe. If so, I'll get the pics tonight before breaking her down. After 3 days of 4am wake times in a row, my brain wasn't quite functioning on all cells last night when I finally got home.
I just about took a second shot, but he was a little forky about 40 yards away. He got a pass.

It’s just two pictures with the deer and bow so should be fine. I think I’ve seen people that’s had them skinned lol if not we are the most unorganized team ever hahahahah congrats on your doe bud!

I think it would be fine. Heck they let me put mine in and it was just a skeleton.

I laughed harder than I should have at this hahahah caught me off guard but very true. Honestly forgot ha. I’m in a tree. Ashley Is watching the kiddos. Think she wants me to shoot one so I quit moping around ha. Complete changed of gears. On the field edge. Fingers crossed…

Alissa asked me the same thing last night. I said the moping is going to be over now that we have Venison in the freezer again... but the hunting isn't! I've still got two more tags to fill, and we went through three deer in the last 12 months. There's no sense in quitting early.

Oh I won’t quit! I just have burned up all my vacation and personal days haha so now I have to be an every other weekend warrior until the end of season. Our family also needs at least 3. My county is only a two deer county so at some point I will have to go try to shoot a public land doe somewhere else. Might pull out the smoke pole or even my papaws old .44 for that since I already got my doe for the competition

Yeah, it gets tough only being to hunt the weekend. We have rifle coming up in Wisconsin and that really turns everything nocturnal as well. It's more difficult but surely not impossible. Sometimes a few days off is all it takes to fill the tank and get back out there. Good luck out there boys. I have a Kansas tag burning a hole in my pocket and I'm planning on driving down Sunday after my daughter's birthday. I literally have three days to make it happen and its a 10 hour drive to hunt battered public land with rain and wind in the forecast. Worth it!!!!

This might sound dramatic, but I've been in a brain fog since this weekend. Yesterday I took my daughter to the wrong school for basketball practice and today I made a huge mistake at work. I can't shake this buck!

I understand you completely. I like to lie to myself sometimes and say "it's just a deer". We all know that's not true. I'll say this though, crazy **** happens in the woods all the time and the one silver lining is that the final chapter of the story hasn't been written yet.

I completely get it. After that big one got my wind the other day I got lost on my way of the woods. Tripping all over everything…Literally never happens. Crazy what these deer do to our heads.

Its crazy how a buck can consume our thoughts. Just wait til your first hunt after, your going to feel like you shouldn't be out there.

A more accurate statement would be skinless...

I'll get the pics taken this evening. She's strung up in the garage, waiting the obligatory few days before butchering.

Question: Will the the head still be attached in the pics to verify what it actually is?
