Took the gf out to a spot I shot a buck a few years ago. Had them blowing at us from the time we got in there til the time we left ha she was super uncomfortable and couldn’t stop moving and I got busted looking behind me. Needless to say that kill tree has lost its luster and there just isn’t enough cover anymore. There were two super fresh scrapes right in the saddle we were hunting. Also saw a coyote that didn’t care about the lip squeak. Saw 7 doe and no bucks…will hit it again there in a week or so.

Be in the stand here in about 2 hours. Had video this morning of a decent buck chasing a doe pretty hard.

Saw a nice 10pt just out of range. Tried calling him back, didn't even stop to look. Had doe come from direction he went about 30 minutes later. Same trail he went back on. Right at dark had a doe walk right under my stand. Looked a little small, then heard a buck grunting , pushing a doe a little deeper in the woods. Only saw the shadows. I think tomorrow I'm going to move my stand about 20 or 25 yards deeper into the woods and about 40 yards to my right. 2 sits and 9 deer later, all walked the ame Ridge deeper in the woods and worked their way down to a dried up creek bottom. I should be able to see a little more area being higher on the Ridge and overlooking the creek.

Sounds like you need to move. Careful if you plan to hunt the evenings there. There is a reason the deer are walking the creek bed. Thermals. In the evening all the air will flow from the ridge, down into that creek bed. If the bucks are cruising the ridge, then you should be good.

If you would have told me I wasn’t going to see a deer this morning I would have called you a liar..absolutely beautiful COLD morning. Seen deer all the way to the woods and all the way back home ha. Got the kids to school and was in the tree by 730. He had the scrapes I was hunting tore up from lastnight I’m guessing. Last sit for me until Monday. Deer camp next week at a new piece of public I’ve never been. Should be fun!

Also we are in second by 6 points! Ha would be awesome if someone that hasn’t shot a doe knocks one down before things get too serious here soon! Bucks are about to be hitting the ground!

I'm finally starting to get a few good deer on cam. How much do you guys believe in the theory of bucks being on the same property exactly a year later? The more I look back at my pictures the more I believe it to be true. The one that showed up on my property starts using my woods on October 13 the last three years. It's actually kind of wild. I have a date with him next weekend as the last two years he has been daywalking on the 27th and 28th pretty regularly. I know it's not that easy and I"m sure the weather has something to do with it but still kind of cool to think about a deer being on a clock. Almost like he can't control it which is definately an advantage when you think about it. Now, if I didn't have 40 neighbors hunting him I'd be confident!

I believe its real. I once chased a buck just off of sign for 3 years. Every year he would lay down massive rubs and scrapes in this one spot. But it happened 1 day earlier every year. Finally on 3rd year i went in 2 days before the year before, and i shot him at 2:30 in the afternoon in that exact spot. Every time i hunted him prior, i was a day late.

Also since you replied to team 12 thread, any buck you shoot this weekend, now counts towards our points. Thank you Sir

I base a lot of my hunts off deer I seen the year prior and when. Since I don’t really run cameras, I remember when I seen a nice 2 or 3 year old and go hunt that area the same time of year the next year. Seems to really work for me! I’d imagine with cameras you could really dial it in with actual data.
