Yes, we should have a few. Some of you may already know, but we just relocated and moved from Northern Illinois down to West Central Illinois this past June. We now own two separate farms down here in Fulton county and are currently building a house. We should have some pretty good hunting right out the back door which should make it a little bit easier to get more time hunting this year. There are a handful of pretty good deer on the two farms that we own, I’ve included a few pics below. We also lease a pretty good farm that’s an hour and a half north. Haven’t been there to set up cameras, I plan to do that this weekend. There are always good deer on that one, but I’m pretty sure these two are still alive up there. I still have a lot of work to be ready because our two main properties are still fairly new for us and I was so busy with our move earlier this year. But we should have some good ones to chase around, and I’m hoping as priority number one that I can get my oldest son on one of the better deer that we have. If I can pull that off, I will be pretty happy with the season. Hope you guys are all doing well, it’s exciting to see all the pictures and we will all be in the woods as soon enough!
Same to you Matt! Hope you and the boy lay down giants this year! I’m also taking my stepson out this year. Hoping to get him his first deer. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
This guy is my #1 for now. I have 3 years worth of pics and a shed from this 2 acre urban property. I won't see most of the bucks until mid October but a few are coming around now.
Yeah buddy! Looks like we all have some slammers in our midst! We got absolutely slammed by ehd 2 years ago and it seems like it never fails that after that happens big deer are everywhere a few years after. I’m definitely liking the direction of where our team is headed! I might send a message to the other fellas just to let them know to check in. I checked lastnight and a couple have been logged on just haven’t checked in. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
You guys are killing me! Haha, I want to go check my cameras now. But I will wait til this weekend. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Calling @GeminiRidge @Tink-a-Link @Rjhart12pt @vermontwhitetail Your needed by your team! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I didn’t even know you could do that ha…I just figured out how to bold out the names by trial and error lastnight hahahah Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
If they use a app on the fourm, it will alert them that someone is talking about them. But if they are using the just internet browser, then not sure if it does anything. Then just have to pm them individually. Im far from tech savvy, but picked up a few things from just on here, haha. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Let's go, boys! Present and accounted for. Season opens up September 14th here in MN. I'm starting to run out of meat, so it couldn't be better timed. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
Welcome to the party! We get the other fellas in here we will start brainstorming for names and figure out our captain. This is our year! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
GeminiRidge reporting for duty. The season starts the 14th of September and I'll be in a tree someplace in central wisconsin. My property is infested with wolves but I have 100k acres of public that is about a mile from my house to run around in to find something (although it is also infested with wolves. HA!)
No wolf problem in Central/southern MN! Plenty of coyotes, though. The private I've got access to has plenty of deer! Last year, I got two deer (button bucks) with archery tackle and a huge doe with my muzzle loader. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
Hey 50 points is 50 points haha. I’m hoping to put a doe on the ground opening day on the 28th! Always the goal ha freezer is empty! It usually take at least 3 to make it all the way through season to season in my household. I’m only allowed to shoot 2 in my county. Then I can bounce to another county. Problem is I’m only allowed to shoot one public land doe. For this reason I’ve been shooting my bucks mainly on public the last few years in another county just so I can shoot 2 doe here in my county on the private land I hunt. This year with all the good bucks I have on cam I’ll be hitting the private farm heavy for one of the big fellas and I’ll just have to sort out the doe thing later hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Checking in, John from VT. Season opens here on October 1. I have one decent 8pt, nothing like you Midwest guys, but probably 100". I'll be in NJ September 14 for the opener, will hopefully put a Doe down opening weekend and then will be Buck hunting the rest of the season. I have one really nice Buck, maybe 130" with a bunch of junk on the brows. VT closes December 15, NJ goes to third Saturday in February. Post some pics when I can.
Glad to have you bud! Trophy is in the eye of the beholder! I might have pictures of some good ones but if a 120 comes in the right way and makes me pick up my bow I don’t hesitate ha. I am going to try to go back to my ways of trying to get a big one though this year I think. But time will tell! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
