Had two doe walking by at 40…wouldn’t come any closer. Had a nice shot at one but with as warm as it got today I didn’t wanna risk it. Back to work for me. I’ll be out Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Next week have a shutdown week so will be hitting it hard! Feels good getting back on public! What do you guys think about an early October mid-day sit? I'm thinking about calling in sick on Monday and then hunting 9-3 (around the kids' bus schedule). 15° temp drop and a wind switch to North.
There are days that im driving around and see deer on their feet middle of day. If you have a food source, then definitely a chance. Might be slow most of the day though. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I do a lot of hunts like this. Almost got a doe doing it the other day. I usually try to hunt in bedding and still hunt my way in. It works though! Especially if there is a wind shift throughout the day and believe it or not really sunny days. I find on sunny days deer shift more in their bedding. Believe it or not I shot two coyotes this morning! First sit without seeing a deer. Probably for obvious reasons ha. Makes 3 yote I got this week. Crazy. No hunting from me this weekend. I did cut up my doe and got half in the freezer today. I ran out of freeze bags and had to order more. Stinks to have to finish it tomorrow evening. Might get out this Tuesday to hunt.

What a sh!tshow! I bought all new early season camo last fall, proceeded to lose 60 pounds, and now everything is way too big. I went to throw it all in the wash and don't have any hunting detergent. It took 20 mins to find my ScentCrusher unit. Let's see what else goes wrong...
