Nice buck Skywalker. He dwarfs the deer down this way. Hope you get a shot at him.

Love the looks of Dozer. Those old bucks get so darn big. I had one on my property like that a few years ago and named him Bear. I watched a 6 or 7 year old last night. He worked over a mock rub tree that I just put out the afternoon before. He made sure to make it his own! It now has a fair amount of lean to it. lol

Things are cranking up. I sat last night and had a great time. I saw about 30 deer total and at least four bucks that would be 4.5yrs old minimum. The young guys were running around like love starved pups and the older bucks were working scrapes hard and scent checking does. This guy worked over the mock rub tree that I just put out a few days ago. He's a nice looking 8 that would push 140". Now we are getting hit with a big cold snap that should really get things cranking. Sorry about the image being rotated, thought I had that fixed?

Sounds like a great hunt Fletch. Are you looking for something bigger than that 8pt or did you just not have a good shot?

Got to be bigger. That rub tree is only 18 yards. He was a chip shot for a while.

Another good sit last evening. Big boys are pounding the scrapes and the young ones are running does. It was really windy, so I did not see big numbers of deer, about a dozen or so. I did see three mature bucks and had a 8 yard shot opportunity at one of my hit list bucks. But, he had broken off about a 7 inch drop tine cleanly at the beam. Bummer, without that, he is just another big 8 point. This weekend should be really good.

Sounds like some great action Fletch. I’m sitting today and tomorrow in a strip of woods that connects a couple of wood lots. I’m hoping to catch a buck cruising between the two locations. It’s been really windy so that’s made it tough

Taking an extra two days off this week and next to hit the woods. Lots of small buck activity last week, saw 5 in just an hour and a half last Monday morning, no shooters but all were within 15 yards. Headed to the woods if a few.

After sitting all day Friday and with same results on Saturday morning I moved my stand 300 yards closer to bedding and shot this doe at 25 yards, she only went 27 yards. My first harvest with a bow
