I sent a PM to Tbeav so hopefully he checks in. I saw that his last activity was on 3-4-2014 so he may not be on the forums much.

Sounds good to me, Beard Bandits it is I guess. Now the long wait until the season starts :) Anybody going for there first with a bow? I have shot several out of a tree during deer season but I have got skunked in the spring the last few years. I have some great land this year though so I am hoping that changes!

Going to try for my first bow turkey with my new mission ballistic. But I wanna get one first and then I have a few other things im going to try first.. but i will try the bow if i all else fails. all going to depend on how the birds are this year.

I'll be using a bow exclusively this year. Last year I did the same... Took 2 bad shots at 2 birds. Feathers flew once as some jakes were at the decoys, but he wasn't hurt. We were in a crappy blind that was too small for 2 people and i couldnt draw properly. We chased those birds and an hour later my buddy killed the tom with his gun. I have a new, proper 2 person blind this year.

The second shot was a running away Hail Mary shot that I should not have taken...

I believe you go to the national wild turkey federation website, and use their scorer to measure the beard, weight, spurs, etc etc and then figure your total score and post it here.. I may be wrong though.

As IAMIKE said it is the NWTF scoring that we are going by. There is a thread opened up on the contest page that lays out all of the rules. The big thing too is make sure you have a picture with you and your bow with the bird, two if possible. You will post the pictures on the scoring thread first and then here if you want but they have to be on the scoring thread to count. Its pretty similar to the deer contest.

The season is a few weeks away yet but I put out a camera near a roost and got a good idea what I will be working with this spring! :)

Well, we put them to bed tonight. Will be setup 300 yards down the windrow from them on their route to the neighbors wheat for breakfast. Here is a typical western OK deer highway...[IMG][IMG]

And a rub patch from fall/winter...
