Thanks. They have been chasing it for two years. It had a range of at least 20 miles. The outfitter said he has never seen a bear like this with the blonde razorback mane

Nice bear! I haven't been posting much lately been busy with school and football. Season opens here this weekend, I'm going to try to get out a little but I don't know if I will. Have a few good bucks I'm chasing so far. Got my first hard horn pictures this last pull. Pretty much set just have to wash clothes and keep shooting bow. Going to be nice and cool here this weekend so we'll see what happens. Good luck!

Had a 40 degree temp change in ND so hopefully the deer will be moving this weekend!

My season starts Monday, but I'm not sure what day I will get out for the first time. This last semester of college is really screwing with my hunting schedule.

Here are a few of the bucks that are around.

Kind of a slow year as far as big bucks, unfortunately. I'm almost thinking of shooting the wide buck, as he is old and mature, but not much in the antler department. He has been a 3x3 up until this season, so he is pretty much at his peak.

What happened to Wonky and that other big deer you had pics of last year?

Wonky disappeared towards the end of November last season, and the other big deer got killed by the neighbor with a recurve and cedar shafts.

What did that other one end up scoring? If I can remember right, wasn't he 160ish or so?

I never heard a score, I have never talked to the guy that killed him. I'll try and find a pic to post on here.

His right brow tine is split into 3 points. He had a huge body, when he ran it looked like he was 400 lbs

I have had the same lease in SE MN for 26 years. I was told at the beginning of the year that they were not going to lease it out any more. I have tried to keep part of it but he has not decided yet so I am figuring it is over. There were some ok deer when we first started hunting it and we drew straws to hunt a 130" buck if we saw one. I worked pretty hard to turn it into a big buck haven. Here are just a few of the bucks that I have got on camera the last few years. It is going to be hard not climbing into a stand on opening day there Saturday.

Here is the right side from Split Brow the buck in the first 2 pictures. It scores 98" and had a couple of tips broke off.

It is not all gloom and doom though. I usually make a trade or two with outfitters that have been using our stuff for years. I have a hunt in Buffalo County with Buffalo County Outfitters and a second season shotgun hunt in Iowa with my good friends at Wicked Whitetail Outdoors. I also have a couple hunts set up for the kids during the youth gun hunt in Buffalo County and one for my son in Missouri.

It looks like I just got a lease in Buffalo County with a buddy of mine. I usually run about 30 cameras so it will be nice to get to run some again.

MR, what part of Buffalo County did you and your buddy get your lease? Close to Nelson by any chance?
