I was looking over where everyone is from and 11 of our teammates are from the Midwest and 1 is in Texas. At least we are hunting where BIG deer are. I really like our chances at making the reigning champs sweat :)

The most important part of this contest is too have fun. Don't worry if you don't shoot a deer or if you shoot something that isn't a giant, that isn't what this all about. But one of the rules and this one will never be broken is the picture part for your deer to count.

You have to have 2 pictures with you and your deer with the bow included in both pictures for both bucks and does and their is no exception. People have tried to take a picture then crop it for the second one and they always get caught.

    When does everyone's season start?

September 15th for the great state of Kansas. Have a couple of big guys making appearances in daylight still so I am hoping that they will continue that pattern when I return from Canada!

Good luck in Canada David. I am going to start up a bait on Sunday. TJ(Tacklebox) is coming up to hunt a no quota section and try and catch some walleyes so I am going to try and get some bear coming in for him and get a stand hung and a camera set.

Thanks! I am hoping my brothers and I can all tag out. I am pretty pumped for the fishing as well. Looking like it could be rainy up there while we are there but no matter, we will have fun regardless. Good luck to everyone this year and have fun!!

I will be out checking cameras after class tomorrow, but then I have to go to Iowa for a wedding this weekend. Really gonna put a damper on my getting ready for deer season/shooting doves plan.

There we go, I got the avatar figured out. Heading out for a scouting trip and checking trail cameras on Sunday. I might even hang one last stand if I can climb by then. 9 days post arthroscopic knee surgery and I'm back to about 75%. Anybody been through this and have a time line for returning to 100%?

I went to some public land we hunted bear last year and had a lot of activity but with all of the 4 wheelers and people target shooting on Labor Day weekend last tear the bear activity shut down. I didn't want to go back but was out of options in a no quota area so I set up a couple baits yesterday. The one spot is really good and way back in there by a pond. It is REALLY thick and you cant see far. It will be less than a 20 yard bow shot. The season starts today but I wont be able to hunt it until Wednesday night. Then TJ (Tacklebx) and his buddy will be hunting it Friday thru Tuesday except when my son climbs in that stand Saturday. Hopefully we can start knocking down some big bears in the next week.

Not a good day so far. No deer on the cams, broadhead tuning has been a disaster, bent one of my new arrows, lost another.
    Still isnt tuned.
Guess I have to buy new arrows.....again
