My wife went with me to day. Not very often will she go. those Deer are just so darn Cute you know. But about 6:45am we had a good sized doe doing the limb lick. so I figured just may be just may be he might come check it out too. but Bam here come 3 yearlings tailing her. we watched them for about an hour and no buck. the on yearling got about 10 feet from us. My wife was ecstatic. My cover scent was Acorns. Smells like Pecan pie if you ask me.
So We are goign out on Sunday and we will see what happens.

Was out all day today and didn't see a one.
What I did see was that somebody setup not 30yds behind me.
Came in this morning and saw those reflector dots.
All the way up past my set, literally one on the tree before and the one after. You couldn't of missed my stand.
Now I get that its land but man, you'd of thought they'd say hey somebody's all setup here, maybe I'll look for a different spot.

So I climbed down around noon and found a fresh scrape over the next hill and hot all setup.

Nock a Doe down and get 50 Pts on the board. Interesting is I can't get a Doe within bow range to save my life this season.

WE can not shoot Does other wise I would have put up the 50 already. we are only allowed to shoot Does during the Archery season which is the last weekend of Sept. - the last weekend of October. then our gun season starts and goes until Jan 9th. the only other time you can shoot does is over Turkey weekend from Turkeyday til Sunday and I didn't see a darn thing that whole weekend.. I work all week for the next 4 weeks and will be out of town for the next 4 weekends goign to different family houses for Christmas so it looks like I was not able to contribute this year. Good luck fellas for the rest of the comp.

Well I wish I had as good of a bow hunting season as I have during gun season. Here is the old buck I shot in Iowa this week.

I shot another buck this evening with the crossbow this time. He is not a giant but a nice looking 8pt. I'll get pics up soon. Since he is my second Buck said we get another 50 points for the team. I would think I wouldn't have to post te score since it's my Bonus Deer right???? Will Get pics up soon. Nice to be tagged out with two nice bucks this season.

I stuck it out all I could, had to pick up my kid from school today so I only had til 3.
    Nothing!!!, Nothing all season!
I saw maybe one deer with a bow in my hand after rifle season.
The orange army had them locked down nocturnal for the longest time.
I probably won't hunt much after rifle next year, instead putting all my focus on the months before December.
As disappointing as it was it wasn't a total loss.
Learned a lot, I mean a lot. Armed with more Intel and planning for next year.
Mark my words, next year I'm getting one.

Sorry I couldn't get it done, good luck.

I am officially done as of my shoulder surgery Wednesday. It was my best season buck wise this year and I also learned a lot about some new areas my buddies and I are hunting. Doc says I have six months of rehab ahead of me before I can even think about pulling my bow back. Looking forward to getting healthy again.
