This was the 10th doe that i had in range for the night. I was in an oak tree that is at the junction of an Alfalfa and soybean field. The temp was falling all night and the wind was steadily getting lighter. I passed an OK 8 point and all the does previous but with just a few minutes of shooting light left I decided to but one in the freezer. I shot her at 30 yds and she went about fifty. I have some videos of deer that I passed throughout the night. I'll try to add them if I didn't already delete them.
Congrats on the doe! I haven't been on here much lately, been super busy with school. I lost ~500 acres to being leased out 2 weeks ago, which dropped me to 640 acres of land to hunt on. But, that got me into overdrive on getting more land. I now have 1,120 acres of permission, along with permission on 10,000 acres in western Kansas for bird hunting (might try for a mule deer next year?). I am also going to try to get another 1,000 acres about 30 minutes north of my house, but we will see how that plays out. Good luck to everybody!
sorry Fellas. I have been away. Got the Cameras out and Just last night was able to get the Key back to the gate. Season starts Saturday which I wont be able to make but Sunday Funday is happening for sure. Hope to have something to show.
Congrats on the doe! I have been out a couple of times and seen a few deer but nothing in range yet. I will be going out this weekend and taking my daughters out to the blind with me saturday and sunday. I hope to see some does at least so they can get excited. My son shot his first bear last weekend so now it is time to concentrate on Whitetails. Who is going out hunting this weekend?
Heading out Saturday going to do a morning hunt on some public land with a friend and then an evening hunt on our lease down in Coshocton Ohio while my friend films me should be fun ! Got a super killer spot between the bedding area and the corn in some open timber ! The deer seem to come out feeding on the acorns for an hour or so before dark then head towards the corn fields ! And my stand is in the spot to be ! Hopping the wind blows like it's predicted ! Hoping to at least see a few deer and yes I will take a doe ! Wish me luck for saturday guys ! Got out for a couple of hours this morning. it was opening morning. Got called out by one just after day break. My foot fell asleep and i went to move and it was me before I saw it. Going out all day Sunday.
