Unseasonably cold and rut activity are keeping things stirred up real good.

My next opportunity to get out could be Sunday evening.

No luck this weekend. Good sits. Plenty of bucks moving. Just not big enough.

I missed a doe tonight. I started letting up when I was shooting. That didn’t work. I was drawn for awhile and twisted a little bit. Glad it wasn’t a buck.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I hunted Thurs morning/night and Sat morning. Got a text from my wife while in the blind saying she wanted to go to the hospital to get checked out. All said and done here I am with a second son! Everyone is doing well. I still plan on getting out some here and there but will probably hold off til late season when they're hammering my plots.[IMG]

    Congratulations on the new arrival!

I was about to complain about life getting in the way of my hunting but ill keep my mouth shut. Sometimes good things happen that move hunting to the back burner.

Here in Northeastern PA, our early archery season ended on Monday. Gun season starts the Monday after Thanksgiving.
This season definitely hasn't gone like I wanted it to, but not giving up yet!

It's shotgun season right now and I'm sitting on the couch with my new little one. I think I might try to go out tomorrow morning/evening if things work out but it'll probably be with a shotgun. First shotgun ends Sunday so I might go out with my bow between gun seasons.

Got out tonight. Rattled in small 10 point. Button buck and spike also within range. Saw a shooter chasing doe with another buck. They were 400 yards away. Got within 40 of my dad. They were running wild.

    Good sit.

Welp I did the almost impossible in my eyes tonight. It’s not the biggest buck i’ve shot but he might be my most prized deer. Its been a tough year with the broken foot. I missed the start of the season but made sure I was out there for the rut. W hile still out from work I found myself being able to hunt most afternoons. My father was my biggest help this season, he set me up a spot and a blind. Every afternoon he left work and would load all my gear up and bring me to my blind in a utv and help me get in and then would drive in the dark and pick me back up at the end of each hunt. Even though it cut into his hunting time he never complained once. I owe this deer to him and everyone who helped me along the way. Ultimate trophy achieved!

I work tomorrow but have the weekend off. I'm hoping for two outings.

I'm starting to fear the possibility of tag soup this year.
