Saw a doe and fawn early Saturday morning. Both in range in the dark and once it got light. Nothing else that morning. Didn’t get out the rest of the day. Be out Tuesday night. Buddy in Wisconsin shot a nice one Saturday night. Seems like the big guys are on their feet some right now. Just need to catch up with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thursday night I had one of my shooters at 75 yards at about 6:15. They are starting to hit the scrapes a little heavier and poking their head out in daylight. The past 2 days I got two of my shooters both in daylight hitting the same scrape line. I also got a bobcat on cam for the first time ever. Hopefully I can get lucky and see it in the stand. Saw nothing while hunting last night. Saw 8 on the way home. Maybe I should try road hunting with the crossbow...
Hit one with my truck on the way to work this morning. No damage and I think the deer survived. Almost got stopped before impact
Bow is on. Shot hole in fletching. Helical fletching. First two shots. The third and fourth shots were yanked right a little so my head isn’t too big yet. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I gotta get out and scout for my winter quota hunt soon. Maybe this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I hunted tonight (finally!) ...saw 3 does. Big one at 20 yards, but never got the angle I wanted. Oh well...there's always next time. Good luck everyone.
Got another small 8 point come in perfectly to 10 yards. 2 button bucks that came by at 20. One doe downwind that blew me up the last half hour of light. My dad was out too and didn't see much. Another small 8. Neighbors were picking corn. Need our farm to get out of corn to see more action. Talked to my taxidermist. He saw some shooters this weekend out chasing around 5:30.
have next Monday Tuesday Wednesday off and will be hunting, all signs point to things starting to begin to heat up. i think ill be in stand during some prime action
Hey everyone, I hope everyone is having a good season and is looking forward to the rut. Sorry i’ve been MIA, Opening day here in MA october 15th I got into an aciddent and ended up fracturing and dislocating all the bones in my mid foot and had to under go immediate surgery. I recived some nice new hardware, 6 screws and two pins and have been laid up ever since. Today I saw off my father and bestfriend on the hunting trip we had planned for a year, as heart breaking as it is I have hopes of getting into a more manageable cast on the 6th of november and hopefully finding a way to hobble into a ground blind on my property. I may be broken but i’m not done yet! Ill make sure to be more active as time goes on now.
Been there, done that. It's no fun at all being laid up like that. Good news is that it's a temporary situation. Be thankful that it was your foot and not your neck. Glad you are on the mend
Sorry to hear that. Good luck once you get out in the ground blind. I've got two friends that have had something similar happen and then both shot great bucks in spots they had never hunted on the ground.
Beautiful fall morning today. 32 degrees. About an hour past sunrise and I had 5 deer messing around my stand. I was waiting to see if something would come into range when a service truck pulled into the field and started to work on the irrigation system. That was the end of my hunting for the day. Depending on the work situation, I might get back out this evening.
Getting down to crunch time for me. My wife will be having our kid anytime here in the next 2 weeks. I can always sneak out late season but it sure would be nice to kill something here soon. I got another shooter that showed up this past week. I won't make it out tonight but hoping for tomorrow night and one morning this weekend. Sent from my LG-H931 using Tapatalk
seems deer are just starting to move, looks like i took the right days off of work. in the attached, we dont know this deer but he is starting to show up. you can see in background the base of one of my ladder stands. i shot my buck last year out of this stand with the buck on this same trail.
