Very wet here. Can’t get into check cameras. Doesn’t look like rain is going to let up. Flash flooding last night.

reviewed previous years trailcam pics, seems pretty clear we go from essentially no movement or bucks on camera to lots at that oct 15 time frame.

    current long range forecast shows rain on 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 12th 13th 14th 15th 16th 17th

I'm ready to go. I got my bow all dialed back in over the last couple days. My first hunt will be Thursday evening.

Went out for the first time tonight. I saw 3 does, 3 fawns, a spike, and one of my up and comer 8 pointers that I've been getting on cam. It sure is hard to pass up these does but I don't feel like messing with them with how hot it is. Probably won't be back out for at least a week.

I’ve tried that. They are videos. Not photos. Can’t upload them. Photobucket might have just been down. I’ll try again another day. Have a nice 10 with stickers on the base. Another ok 9. Lots of coyotes. One video of 10 seconds had 5 coyotes.

I got up early this morning and checked the weather to see if I could go hunting. Unfortunately, I couldnt tell if the rain on the radar was going to hit or miss so I played it safe.

Turns out I could have gone.

We've gotten about 4.5 inches the last 5 days. It was definitely much needed in our area. Theres a chance of rain on Tues/Wed too here but then a big cold front moving through on Thurs/Fri which are my days off. Really hope a can get out for a couple sits but my pregnant wife is sick so I might be stuck on daddy duty of she isn't feeling better by then.

Thursday/Friday looks good here too. Hoping to sit Thursday night and Friday morning. Also extremely wet here too. Looks like the rain should calm down for awhile after Wednesday. Farmers could sure use the break. Everything is getting pushed back a lot.

I have the 19th off to hunt, as long as its dry should be good. extended forecast has a low of 33 so the morning hunt should be nice and cold! and the evening comfortably cool

I am taking the little dude out this weekend in Kentucky for Youth weekend. He will be hunting with a gun because to be frank I can't afford a crossbow and (if I am being honest) he has very little upper body strength for a regular vertical bow powerful enough for him to hunt with.

However, in happy happy happy news I was drawn to participate in an archery only state park quota hunt in late December at a state park I spent countless hours at in my younger days. I am super stoked.... if only i could kill another buck, but alas no dice. Because of this I am in the market for a relatively inexpensive but effective ground blind. I am pretty tall and my bow is a bit older so I need it to be pretty tall. Also, as mentioned above, I am VERY tight on funds (A 17 month old will do that) and would appreciate any suggestions you guys might have that won't break the bank. THanks in advance.
