Missouri archery tag includes 2 turkey tags, i would not hesitate to take a turkey on a day with minimal deer movement

I plan to set up a ground blind after work tomorrow so I can hunt it this weekend.

It's great to have some fall weather that actually feels like fall weather.

I hear ya. I may go after some coyotes this weekend. Checked my camera and had 3 come in at once one day last week. Never seen one live though so this might be fun

I'm taking my bow to the shop tomorrow to get my rest re-centered and paper tuned. I plan on getting everything dialed back in Sat. Hopefully my sights won't change too much but we'll see. I'm pulling cards again tomorrow as well. I'm expecting quite a bit of deer movement with the cooler temps we've had. Season opens up on Oct. 1st here.

I went and pulled cards today. There was definitely an increase in deer movement over the course of the week. One cam had almost 1k pictures, one 700, and another 500. Here's a few of the better pics I got.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Right now I don't have much of a reason to be in the stand in the mornings. It's too warm for me to feel like messing with getting a doe taken care of in a timely manner and my bigger bucks are all nocturnal for the most part. If I needed meat right now it would be a different story though.

I’ve had luck in mornings early. Usually have corn up and they will be traveling back to bedding areas.

Nice badger picture. Never gotten a picture of a badger. Just seen them.

Hoping to pull cards and watch some videos this weekend. Season starts Oct 1. Trying to not overhunt early as I have in the past. No plans of going out first week yet. I’m pretty itchy to let an arrow go though.

Got up early this morning to head out to the blind only to check the weather and find the wind out of the wrong direction.

Sunday afternoon/evening is supposed to be a better wind direction

I'm pretty excited for the spot I found. It's one of the few spots where the creek bank isn't steep and tracks indicate the deer are using it as a crossing spot.

Hunted this morning here in PA. Saw several does and a yearlong buck. No luck, though.

sat friday morning saw nothing from stand. it started raining around 9 so i got down and started pulling chips on walk out. kicked up a lone doe, she ran off to what i thought was between 35-40 yards and slightly up hill. i took a step to my left and had a clear window to her, she took a step forward right into my window.
took a shot which went clean over her back. when i got my arrow i paced off 31 yards, my goodness was i off in my estimation

chips werent great either , only 1 really worth anything

Been in the blind for the last 2 hours. Haven't seen a thing. About to pack up and head home.

Sundown is officially at 7:15 and legally I have another half hour past that. However, the cloudy weather is going to bring a premature end to shooting light today.

Well everyone seasons are open everywhere now (I think) let’s get after them. I got doe tags burning a hole in my pocket so they are in trouble after youth weekend here in Kentucky!
