Been fun seeing the deer come through on cam, they seem to be really hitting the good and the scrapes right now, ton of acorns dropping on my place too. Have a pair of nice 10s, not quite as big as I hoped they would get to this year, but good deer, not sure what he would score, always been a bad judge on the hoof. Haven't seen the deer I was hoping to see yet from last year, but then again last year I had a hard time getting him on camera also. What's your thoughts on where this guy would land? I agree with Ben, somewhere in the 130s to 140s. I have one on the wall that’s similar and he was mid 130s. By the the way, the second deer is not bad. I’d shoot either one.
I'm ready to get this rolling, going to do some walk scouting this weekend and see what's happening around the woods. Maybe some more trees fell creating new funnels.
I will try to get it scored in the next day or two. it is storming on us up on the mountain. we are hoping it dries out
It only scored 94. I glassed it at 1/2 mile away. Did a long stock. Got within 56 yards and he turned to look at me and I shot him. I was shooting up hill. The shot was a little high. I heard him go down. He went maybe 10 feet. I hunted hard for this guy. November I hope to put another 50 points on the board
Another day way up there in the sky. One buddy missed a buck twice. Another buddy shot a forkie with his muzzleloader. We had a lot of deer sighting but no elk sightings. The mountain goat were glass-able, and we saw seven Meriam turkeys….no bear sighting. Another buddy shot a nice chocolate black bear in another unit. Man, has it ever started! Hope everyone is doing well!
