I’m out, but it’s rushed and probably the last opportunity I’ll get. Don’t expect much.

 

How did you do?

 

I have plans to be back in Ohio from Jan 1st-4th, 2026. I am praying a doe shows up to the party -I guess a buck will count too. I leave for Hungary this coming Sunday for a week. If I am successful arrowing a Central European Mouflon, it will be my 169 recognized species taken with a bow. Success means I will be the 10th person to complete SCI's World Hunting Award with archery equipment. This is huge for me! It is the culmination of 40 years of bowhunting, and a goal I established for myself 25 years ago. It has been a journey hard fought and one I will always cherish. To see the World with bow in hand, gentlemen, it has been a dream come true!

 

That is one heck of an accomplishment and I wish you a successful hunt.

 

Was about to slay a big fat doe, until the moron got close and I saw one little spike off the top of his head. That was all I saw.

 

I should be good for another 50. Hope i catch up with new target. Been hanging around ours and neighbors.

 

That's a great buck. Hope something similar comes by me today.

Strike of luck, I have free time, gonna head to woods. Will have the afternoon and morning of this evening goes stale. Will probably leave gear in woods for morning.
I’m still trying, but it’s a pain to fit anything in right now.

No luck, had little fork walk through and a hen turkey roost about 30yards.
Left most of my stuff in the tree for the morning, temps should drop a little and the sky is supposed to clear out over night. May be a good morning.

Came close tonight on a good one with my bow. So close. Saw another good buck , not as big as first one, came by me at about 60. Couldnt stop him. His mouth wide open. Saw him in a boat at the boat ramp haha! He walked right into another guy that was hunting a few hundred yards south of me. Next weekend ill get out again. I did get a cool pic today!

 

Huckleberry, that is some National Geographic level stuff! Makes me wish I could retire at 24 haha. It's gonna be a couple weeks before I can get back out. Last day of archery was Friday. Bear gun season opened up today, but deer don't come back in until after Thanksgiving. We've seen a couple of good buck on the property, but they haven't given us a shot yet. Gotta break out the cold weather gear. I'm hoping we get some snow. Nothing quite like sitting all day with snow on the ground. We still have some time to put some points on the board. Hopefully I can contribute more than my doe to that before January.

 

Alright fellas, put a buck on the board. 104 7/8, would have put $100 he was at least 120” whilst I was in the tree. I don’t care, this is a big deal, first deer I’ve taken home in 3 seasons.
I know I’ve said 5 times, but any hunting the rest of the season may be whatever free chance I get.
We’re back in 3rd, crazy for a bunch of guys whose first posts in the team thread was “I might be busy”. I’ll post some more info about it maybe tomorrow when I get on a computer.
