Team 11

Fellas, this slammer just showed up this morning down in Western Illinois. I'm headed down Thursday night, this is the 3rd year of history with this buck and he really took the jump from last year to now. First time seeing him this year on cams and PLEASANTLY surprised. Good luck @Dizzy I've had that happen a time or two, and saw in the town facebook page of the exact dogs on the loose once I opened my phone haha

 

Another doe down boys. Had a big 6 come into 175 yards, but wouldn’t come any closer. Hopefully I see him again before I have to leave on Saturday.

I get back to Colorado and guess what showed up in Ohio the very day I left?
I am making plans to head back. I have a red squirrel and a big deer on my mind. For now, South Dakota here I come!

I dropped another deer tonight. Doe down. We are on top right now but when rut starts, the Midwest hunters hopefully can carry us through. I am good for another 3 does here.

I am loaded for my road trip to S. Dakota tomorrow. I'll be there for the next two weekends. That is my go-to state for a buck.

Congrats @CountOnMyVote! I FINALLY made it in the woods. Had 2 does just give me the slip and momma blew. If I wouldn’t have been texting I would’ve had a chip shot. To be fair I was texting the wife about kids doctor stuff. It’s thick where I’m at so gotta have my eyes peeled. Check in with you all later. Good luck to anyone out. I’m loving it. First hunt of the year and it’s in the 30’s this AM!

 

Well nothing after those does but I hung a cam on a HOT intersection at the corner of some standing corn. I saw tons of fresh scrapes and rubs. Like less than 24hrs old. Huge tracks. There is at least one BIG boy in this spot. There’s usually a few. Have a Halloween trunk or treat with the kids this evening. Gotta get my pool closed this afternoon but I’ll probably skip the duck opener tomorrow and head back to the woods.

 

First decent buck I've had back on can in two weeks, fun to see the turkeys come through too.

Setup for the evening, we gonna leave gear in tree overnight but realized it’s youth weekend. So I only have this evening.
I’ll be heading to Missouri around the 6th for 4 days to hunt at Little Chiefs. On the plus side, I have an entire weekend to do some little house work, gotta look at the positives.
