    Welcome aboard mcorso.

Soon and very soon we were gonna leave you for the vultures and pick up an alternative. Glad you made it back from the desert alive. ;)

I gotta ask, if you are an army vet from the 82nd, are you shooting a Bowtech 82nd Airborne? Thanks for serving BTW.

Tag out as early as you wish, smoke a slob of a buck, take out a nanny and Team 11 will be more than pleased with your contribution and services. :deer:

I honestly looked at the 82nd airborne bowtech, but right when I was shopping for a new bow, the bowtech limb thing was all the buzz, so i stayed with mathews.. nothing against bowtech, as I here they are making good any replacing any "iffy" limbs

You just making it into a tree this year is a huge improvement over last year! I am hitting Midewin this week. We should get together and hunt a few times this year!

That is supposed to be lots of fun. I wasn't able to make it a few weeks back when they were somewhat near me. Good luck shooting!

We are doing wheat, pinto beans, soybeans and corn this year. Makes for a long harvest in a normal year. Start mid August and get done Novemer 1st. We have done canola, barley, sunflowers, flax and mustard in the past. No rest for the wicked here!! Well until this year... I finally got a few weekends off in early September. That is over as of today. Pinto beans cutting starts tomorrow.

    Tim, corn and beans here.

We'll start in about a week and half and probably go into December. We'll still be doing fall tillage until the snow buries us.

Yeah, remember I got it like September 3rd or something. You're going next week to pick it up?

I might be able to do something on a weekend or Sunday at Midewin.

I know you said you were going to try. Didn't know if you actually made it. I am really only going to be hunting weekends this year. Might have a few days but not much during the week. We will definetly plan a day then. I will probably be at Starved Rock opening weekend.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound harsh if I came off that way.

I am going to be doing a combination of hunting some mornings during the week when I can fit it in plus taking a few days during the rut if possible.

We'll see what we can get set up over there.

You guys arnt gonna believe this, well we were ready to go ,and were waiting for the sitter to get to the house so we could leave, well she was running late and got to our house by 130, so we bolted out and got there about 250, well we walked to the check in tent, and they said the last shooters are going threw the course. so we wernt able to shoot.. we got a refund (since we signed up online) . and watched some of the smaller shoots (water jugs on rope, iron buck) and since it was at deerasic park, we decided to walk the grounds and see some of the deer they had there, if you havent seen these deer go to their website. deerasic park, two of them gross over 300 inches! yeah we saw two of the offspring and for yearlings they had antlers of about 100 inches! crazy! also deerasic is in the process of collecting and creating the ohio whitetail hall of fame, they had about 20 mount there on display, and I really was glad after seeing that to be hunitng in ohio, wow! we finally got the camera from the car , and checked one of the pens. in the bottom of a small ravine about 25 yards straight below us,was a 170-180 class buck bedded down by a downed tree , i took a pic of him and will post tomorrow, not the biggest deer there but was the closest I got to one,, awesome to see a deer that big, that close and really see him ,as he has become accustomed to people,. sux we didnt get to shoot, but we tried to make the best out of it. will go for sure next year. and will hit the deerasic classic next year as well.

That sucks that you weren't able to shoot. Sounds like you still had a good time though.
