Well went on a drive through scouting mission lol unfortunately my spotting scope apparently got ruined in the garage from moisture or something so I couldn’t really glass a couple spots I like glassing well but ended up having 7 doe in bow range of me 90% of the time. No bucks that I could tell. Found a supply of milkweed to last me all year and got enough green burrs on me to help me decide it’s time for new lightweight hunting gear and the ones I had on are going in the trash lol

sounds like a successful scouting trip, seeing doe's that will surely be followed by bucks during the rut time is a plus for me. I'll be heading to my spot monday, checking the camera and seeing if the doe's are still going into there bedding area. hopefully some bucks will show but its still to hot and early here. I will post pics if I get anything reasonable. What gear are you looking at to replace the trashed stuff?

Not sure yet. This stuff is only a couple years old but seems like you can get the lightweight stuff decently cheap. It’s rocky I think. Which I’ve liked because it breathes well. Early season I’ve just been a Walmart guy lol I don’t do the scent control regimen stuff like I used to. So basically anything that breathes. I saw some badlands stuff on a Facebook page earlier that I liked. The guy was selling a whole lot for $200 bucks. Might pull the trigger on that. But that would definitely be the most I’ve ever spent on lightweight stuff ha. I’m due for some heavyweight though also. I’ve had a scent blocker protec suit that’s micro fleece for going on 8 years now. It’s far discontinued but can still find it around. Might buy me one of those again. Warmest stuff I’ve ever found. I wear just a base layer and that until it gets around freezing temperatures. One thing also different about me. I don’t wear insulated boots lol. I swear the trick for me is uninsulated lacrosse alpha burly pros. Regular socks until it gets about 30 degrees. Then move to a wool sock. Anything under 20 degrees I wear Arctic shield boot covers. Although I haven’t tried them with my saddle setup yet.

One good thing, most scrapes around me... mock and real... are getting hit. Just on the fringes of daylight though, hopefully it stays that way.

About to head out to the range..I’m lucky enough to have a free 3D range within 20 minutes of me that the state puts out. Has elevated shooting platforms and everything! Sounds like we have a name and a Captain! Hoping our last fella finds out about us soon haha

I’m lucky l enough to be able to shoot in my yard. I have my target set up for 25, but I can stretch it to 40 if I want. I have an uncle with a huge yard where I can shoot as far as I want. Every now and then, I’ll shoot out to 100 or 120. It makes 40 and in feel like a chip shot.

I think Sota is a household name around these parts? Lol that’s like I don’t really know what exactly the captain has to do. I couldn’t even figure out how to edit my post lmao.
