Also I’ll probably be on standby for a couple weeks lol gotta get Ashley on some deer. October 24th is the start of my vacation so that’s when I’ll get serious again as far as being the shooter haha. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good deer man!!! I honestly thought he was a 137" when I first looked at him but didn't want to short change you if he was bigger. Everyone that looked at my deer before I shot him thought he was close 155-160. Had quite a bit of ground shrinkage on that one... No regrets!
I finally got out for a hunt yesterday afternoon. Felt great to get out there, even if it was 80 degrees. Mosquitos were thick, but I was shocked at how well my thermacell worked. I don't remember fighting any mosquitos after I turned it on. It's funny, on my first sit of every year I'm reminded of a few things: It's dang hard to see when all the leaves are still on. If I'm not careful, my truck will be an absolute disaster with gear strewn all over after just one hunt. I want a bow hook/hanger on every tree I hunt out of. I hold my bow for much of the hunt, but it sure is handy to be able to hang up the bow when you need to grab things from pockets. It is so much fun seeing deer out in the wild. I never had an opportunity to draw back, but my heart was pounding and face was smiling when deer were in sight. That hunting happiness comes rushing back and I love it. I keep myself in check so I'm not too excited when I have an opportunity, but man it feels good to be that excited again. Anyways, I saw 12-13 deer total I believe, but nothing in range. Two of those deer were nice bucks in the last five minutes of shooting light. They were about 100 yards away calmly feeding and making their way to a corn field. I'll be taking a friend's kid out for a youth hunt Saturday morning, then I may get out once during next workweek and again during the weekend. Good luck fellas!
Goodluck bud! I just got off work. Patiently waiting for next weekend. Looks like a front moving in!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

Raccoons are some of my favorite creatures to watch in the wild. Good problem solvers and climbers. Kind of like miniature bears.
Yes i love to watch them. Used to have pets. Well im out 5 hours and 4 baby coons is all. Had a nice buck on camera at 620 last night, said it was to hot and stayed home. Fml
After we had a front opening weekend it hit 80 degrees the next couple days. The hottest day of any of them Ashley missed a giant 10 point lol I honestly think when these acorns are falling like they are they’re up and taking advantage of them no matter what. At least in my neck of the woods. I can’t wait to get out there chasing bucks. Opening day I set up on a buck and missed him and then started focusing on doe. Have that non sense out of the way and ready to get some bone on the ground haha Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
