I’ll probably go out in the morning. Been getting lots of does on camera and it’s been 23 months since my last bow kill. I’ve got to scratch the itch! Going to set 6x6 posts for our new blind we are going to build and set up cameras on a 3rd property to give us another option. Then will more than likely be out tomorrow night as well.

Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain hard until 9Am. I’m gonna slip in before it stops raining and pull an all day sit. Then hunt pm Sunday. Hoping to get a few does down early, so I can focus on buck hunting come late October and November

Warning everyone again. When you shoot a deer you MUST have 2 pictures with your bow and deer in it. If you record your hunt it must have footage of the shot plus recovery of the deer with the bow present for it to count. There have already been 2 bucks entered so far that have been voted on by the captains. 1 he took pictures without the bow but then took pictures of the head and quartered deer with his bow. We counted it. The 2nd one was a bow hunt or die team member. He has the footage of the shot but didn’t have the bow present for the recovery. I think we are going to count it even though the rules say it shouldn’t. Every team should be getting this warning. Good luck to everyone going out tomorrow. Stay safe in the trees gentleman!

Back at it tomorrow morning… Had a fantastic opening morning 2 bucks, 6 doe, 3 fawns and 2 yotes. The bucks looked pretty good but it was pretty low light yet in thick cover just hard to tell what I was looking at.

Probably go to a different property tomorrow morning. I already feel really dialed into my properties. That hunt gave me a lot of confidence in my decision making. My preparation. My scent control. To be covered up in deer and not have a single one even remotely know I was in the tree is just awesome.

Pretty much all day hunt in Oklahoma today. Only saw a small 6pt and two does. Went to the truck for lunch. Back in a different stand for the evening. Only saw squirrels. My heart sank when I received this picture from my son-in-law. It wasn't one I had on camera but definitely a mature buck. He was a main frame 10 with a couple kickers. Never good to see them go like this. IMG_4470.jpg

Man that really does suck... You friggin hate to see that.

I didn't end up hunting yesterday morning... Probably a good thing because I forgot my public land access where I was planning on hunting is Friday and Saturday only - I had forgot it was Sunday and that is where I was planning on going.

We are set to get a pretty serious cold front for this part of Indiana for early October later this week... So I plan to be in the stand quite a bit. I just can't ignore 58/31 Friday-Sunday with pretty calm wind. How can you not be in a tree stand?!

Is anyone else hunting?!?! This team is pretty quiet. Haven’t heard from some of you all. Typically not a good sign.

The weekends haven’t lined up well for me since opening weekend here in Wisconsin. I’ll finally be back in a tree a couple weekends from now and then have a couple 4 day weekends during the best part of the rut. Can’t wait to get back out there!

Went out for opening weekend, the public land I hunt is in a serious drought this year, barely any folage on the trees I sit in, felt like sitting duck up there. But zero activity in the creek bottom I hunt. Good news is my lease are showing lots of buck activity, should be there in 2 weeks. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Does avoided me on Saturday morning. Got skunked that evening. Didn’t hunt Sunday at all. Set 6x6 posts for the new blind. Going to be nice. Hopefully we can finish it before snow comes.

Going out tonight after my dentist appointment hopefully. Don’t have high expectations since the property I’m going to has lots of corn still in. Also not running cameras there this year. My friend has a couple out and had gotten a few decent bucks on them.

Forth straight day in the stand. I've seen several deer but only had 4 in range. Two were fawns, one small 6pt and a doe when it was barely light enough to see. Lots of deer on Oklahoma place. They had a prescribed burn in the spring which burned all the leaves off the ground. With the background noise from the turnpike, I can't hear deer walking. Cold front coming through Friday morning, so I plan to hunt Oklahoma. I had this buck on camera before I was in my stand. Hope to see him Friday morning. Tomorrow I'm hunting near some chestnut trees in Arkansas. Should have a chance at a doe. STC_0188.jpg STC_0190.jpg STC_0191.jpg

Pretty sure I saw that young 8pt last night just before the end off shooting light. He walked past my stand at less than 10 yards. It looks like he has busted up his left side, missing g2 and 6" of his main beam. It seems early for that. It was either him or his ugly half-brother.
