What will this one score? P.S. The cattle should be coming off this pasture today or tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I will probably get out sometime next week and change cameras. Trim some lanes and finish up some prep work over the course of the next couple weeks. I am really looking forward to checking my Parke County camera - I have it on a community scrape that always gets hammered around mid September on through mid to late October. It's always gives me a good inventory of what sort of bucks I am going to get an opportunity to hunt.
I just moved a camera to a scrape location today. I'll check it midweek before September 24th opener. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
We have 16 cameras out on 2 different properties. We trimmed some shooting lanes and trails last weekend. Trimmed out the tree that o shot at both my biggest bow bucks from. I think I’ve seen 2 deer from that tree haha. Both just shy of 150. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Missed the wide one from the tree and killed him about 200 yards away the next day. Shot the split g2 buck Halloween of 2020. Biggest buck to date was a gun buck unfortunately. He went right at 160 shot him December of 2020. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This will be the fourth season I'm hunting a particular buck. I first got pictures of him in 2019 on multiple occasions. In 2020, I only had one picture of him. Last season absolutely zero pictures. In three seasons, I saw him once. That was last season. He is absolutely HUGE for Arkansas. I was out for an afternoon hunt with my son. He was in a ladder stand about 120 yards from my location. Neither of us had any deer within range. As the last few minutes of legal shooting light was rapidly approaching, I caught movement to my right but could only see his legs. The buck stepped out into the field and finally turned quartering away at 30 yards. Before I could get my bow drawn, he throws his head up looking away from me and then he bolted. About 10 seconds later I see my son walking towards my stand. He said "Oh dad, I'm so sorry! " The buck was probably 6-8" taller than 2020 picture. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Just dropped of a load of treated lumber to my buddys dads house. We are going to build another platform or 2 for blinds. Also had some aluminum siding brought back that my boss was just going to dump. Well I couldn’t let that happen. Now we will be building a very nice permanent blind. We will build it 8x8 so should be insane lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In a little over 24 hours I’ll be sitting in a stand for opening day here. Don’t have any pictures of anything too exciting yet, so I’ll be sitting over a foodplot observing and on doe patrol. Can’t wait to get back out into the woods!
Good luck! Youth opens up tomorrow buddy I have drill so it’ll be another week till I can get my daughter out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The last picture is from 2020. I'm pretty sure I had a picture of him after he shed last year. He was quite a bit bigger when I saw him last season. Hope to get him this season. He has to be 6.5-7.5 years old. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Good Morning!! Only seen a doe and fawn so far. It’s good to be out though!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Out on stand as we speak, and man does it feel good to be back in a tree! Cameras showed a lot of activity on this foodplot the last week, with some good bucks coming out in the day light. I’ll keep you all updated on what happens.
Sorry for the late update fellas, but it turned into a long night. My dad shot this guy at about 7 last night! It was a 20 yard slightly quartering away shot and he got a double lung pass thru and the buck didn’t go 50 yards. It had been quite a few years since his last one with a bow, so it’s a special one for sure. Season is off to an excellent start!
Hey guys, been bustin my butt at work to get days off for prime season so I haven’t been out much, probably won’t hunt for another couple weeks, gonna be 100 again in Kentucky this week. I will give a brief update to my life, I’m pretty damn excited.. I just got very lucky with a property that I was able to purchase, it is 5.5 acres with home and barn and it borders thousands of acres of timber. Needless to say, shooting deer will no longer be a worry for me!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
