106 degrees is just plain ridiculous, I'll make sure I don't complain when it's 70 and 80 degrees around here for bow this season.

One of the new marsh pieces I'll be hunting this year. We get a lot varying winds early season so don't worry too much about that. Entry can be from the north side with canoe(Where the road comes up to the creek) or from the south side on foot right about where the S curve is in the road.

    Scowd,
Thanks for the heads up. I went over and sent him a message to do it or tell me how to it I could so hopefully it'll be changed soon.

Yikes. We've only had a few days like that over here this year but usually we'll get some kind of sea breeze to help cool off a little. I'm hoping for a cool front the Friday before the season starts to help out opening day. If not I may be wearing shorts in the stand if the thermacell will keep the skeeters off me.

Looks like a good parcel there. Hope there's some monsters hanging out on it. You got any cams out keeping an eye out for activity?

I like the looks of it. I especially like that canoe entry. How many acres is it?

Looks like all we need now is for Krohboy to check in or get a replacement. Then It'll be time to put some blood on the ground!!! I'm pumped guys! It's all that's on my mind now. Having a hard time getting to sleep at night with all the stuff going on in my head. I hope Team Compound Mafia has a great season! I know it's going to be fun!

Yeah I hope he makes it. If he doesn't we'll have to see who we get. He has until Monday so there's still a good chance he can make it.
And I'm the same way. Just itching for the season to kick off. Having problems getting to sleep just thinking about it.

No cams, I put some out every now and then for a couple of weeks and then on scrapes or creek crossings occasionally during season but other than that I don't use them as much anymore. I figure the bucks that are in there are in there so I don't want to disturb em too much. That piece doesn't set up well for going in and out of it a lot.

Nate, I like you VA boys. There's a couple of guys from VA that come and hunt the public land I hunt right around Nov. or so most years anyways. They're good guys. I always like talking to them. They usually crack me up!

Sorry I haven't been too active yet in the thread. Classes stared last week and it has kept me more than busy along with a hectic work schedule. Compound Mafia as a name and Yancy as a capt. are fine with me. As far as the crossbow situation, I can't claim that I know the first thing about them but that sounds really out of the ordinary from any measure but I don't think the bolts would be to blame; sounds more to me like it is either set up wrong or the string is being drawn crooked due to shots going both left and right. I am looking forward to this year and winning this competition together :) Are there any prizes included besides bragging rights?

I like your attitude! I hope you have a big one tied up and waiting on opening day. I think Bowhunting.com has some kind of a prize pack. Probably shirts and stickers. Things like that.

guys..what have i done?! bowhunting is so hard for me because im satisfied with what i have, but i always want more! lol. im only in highschool and i play baseball, so the only job opportunity i have is grass cutting. i cut 8 yards around town, and thats enough to help my dad with fees, seed, fertilizer..etc. the rest is put towards gas, my out of state licenses, and everything else. a few months ago, i caught a sweet deal on a bear mauler for $350. it came completely set up...the guy just wanted to hang up his hunting career. i sold my pse for $350, and after buying a dozen easton bloodlines, i was set up. i absolutely love the bow, but im chompinnnn at the bit over these new obsession evolutions. i just have to vent...

Those Evolutions are really nice. My buddy just picked one up and turned around and ordered another. You should just wait until the 2015 comes out and pickup a used 14. I wouldn't want to be making changes this close to season. That'll give you a little time to save up some money.
What happened with the crossbow? You get that thing figured out?

I see a lot of logos out there for teams. I'm no graphic artist but I "found" some software to play with so I'll see what I can make for us. If anyone else has any experience see what you can make.

Can we agree that we wil not kill any deer this season?

Instead they will be whacked, rubbed out, popped, put "on the spot", hit, knocked off, put on ice, clipped, burned, or bumped off.
