Those are some nice bucks. Heck of a hit list. Looks like they've got some age on them too. Hope you put an arrow through one of them, especially since you've got so much time off to work on them. Good luck.

Ya that's a good lookin' list for sure! Any of them will do nicely for the contest not to mention wall hangin'. The last one is fantastic and looks like a 6x5? Impressive!

Haha it's funny for me to hear someone refer to a whitetail as a 6x5. Just picking on ya Hillbilly Jedi. But I was going to say the 11 pointer was my favorite - there's nothing I love more than a symmetrical shooter

Agree on letting the weekend go so the others can check in before voting for a captain. I'm a rookie to the site, bow hunting and to the contest. I'd say at least have a captain that's done this once before.

On another note, this is how my luck goes. Hunt 2 1/2 days of opening weekend and never drew my bow. Then yesterday my step-mom sends me this pic from she and my dad's kitchen window...

The one on the left is nothing but the one on the right is a good ace in the hole later in the season.

That's too funny! I thought things like that only happened to me. You have Columbian black-tails out there, right?

Checking in. Got an elk hunt in 9 days to take care of first. But we do have our food plots in and are ready for the season to start when we get back!!! Only bad note is that I just found out that I have to do some training classes for the middle two weeks of November. Plan is to take first week of November off and hope the rut is a little early this year in Kansas.

Glad you made it. Sucks about the training but sounds like you'll be able to get a good bit of time in the stand in. Good look on you elk hunt and during the season. Looking forward to seeing what you get.

Thanks all. I can barely sleep at night thinking about the mountains. Even if we don't get an elk, the time with my oldest will be priceless.

oh man, guys i apologize. i sent everyone a private message because i wasnt aware there was a thread for team 11 already. checking in!! im from south louisiana. no monsters here. i hunt 120 acres of family land in east mississippi. on a hunting club near that thats about 8000 acres.. no giants. the family property has monsters. took a few pictures of 170's last year, but we can never lay eyes on the. neighbors seem to interrupt, and we can just never ever get these bucks to come out during the day. suggestions?! ill be hunting with a buddy that has some really good deer on his place around woodville, ms. we'll see how that turns out. looking to contribute as much as i can for you guys. lets get it done

It's all good. I marked you as checking in.

Hard to get them out in the day, usually the best chance is early in the season since there's not a bunch of movement in the woods yet or during rut when there's only one thing on their mind. But it can get frustrating seeing those pics at midnight when you sat the stand until dark. Guess that's why it's hunting and not killing.

Good luck this season. Maybe you'll find a monster in the daylight.

Defiantly be nice if you'd see either one of them in the daylight. Nice bucks.

This is z7hunter checking in. Sorry I'm late to the occasion. Just got back from Africa yesterday from a 2 week hunt. I hunt in SC on a couple of privately owned tracts in the lowcountry. I'm always good for several does and hope to put a few nice bucks down this year. Haven't got any giants on camera yet but have seen plenty of older cull bucks that shouldn't be too hard to get an arrow in.

Looks like we almost got everybody, anyone missing? I'm good with almost any name but we may want to pick a good one because after we win this thing we'll be stuck with it for at least 1 more year. As far as Team Captain, is there anyone that considers themselves very active on here? I'm not logged in nearly as often as I used to be due to a change in work but if there is someone who has the time to check in a little more frequently that would probably be ideal? Just a thought.

Only one we're waiting on is Krohboy. Hopefully he'll check in soon. As far as a name goes Hillbilly Jedi suggested Compound Mafia which is really good. Anyone else have any suggestions or feelings on a name? Who do we want to make captain? Anyone particularly want to be it? Probably should be someone who is pretty frequent to the forum.
