We have an urban archery season that opens Sept.6 for does only then statewide bow season opens Oct. 4. A couple counties I hunt have gun seasons that open Oct. 1 then bow comes in Dec 1. I have 3 of my own kids I'll be hunting with quite a bit and a nephew who will be hunting with me as an apprentice hunter. Also taking a guy from work who has been wanting to go the past couple if seasons. I only mention that because while I'm pretty sure I'll be able to knock down a doe or two I won't be hunting "hard" so to speak this season as I will be playing guide a lot. I still plan on getting in some good sits around Halloween through beginning of November. Just wanted to focus on having fun this season and hopefully recruit some future hunters.
I don't generally hunt much during that early bow season because it's still so hot but I may try and knock down 50 pts early so I can contribute early on. I bp and gun hunt as well so I can't promise I'll always have my bow. Last season shot at about 13 yards, wish I'd of had my bow that day(Nov. 30):

That's good. Always great to take kids hunting, that's how I got my start. My dad had a rifle in my hands as soon as I could hold it. I'm going to hit archery season hard this year. It runs from Sept 15 to Oct 31 down here then general gun starts Nov 1 and I'll have to work the first three weeks of gun season due to our annual outage at work so I won't have much of a chance to hit the woods till that's over. But it's defiantly warm down here when bow season kicks off . Makes it hard to sit out in the afternoon when it's in the 90s but the mornings won't be too warm.

I saw the pics of the bucks your after. They look nice! Just have to put in your time. Persistence and patients has worked for me in the past. I'm better at the persistence than I am at the patients. How long is your season?
Hi checking in im rick from mass will be hunting ct state land from sept 15 untill oct 20 then onto private land in mass good luck team and remember nothing gets by without a hole in it. any thoughts on a team name?
Season is from 8/16 to 11/2 with a 2 week break between the archery only and general season. I know I've got time but just discouraging. I'll drop something for sure though and I can get a 2nd tag after I drop the first one. I have a couple more shooters out there too, just no pics of them. I have a secret weapon though I'll post later. Stay tuned....

Compound Mafia is cool. Team captain doesn't matter to me. This is my first year in this so I'd just rather kickback and see how it all goes.
