Outstanding. You can absolutely enter a mule deer if you score it correctly! Remember to get two pictures with the bow in it.

Me too, but that is alright. If I am the weak link on this team, we are really well set up. I need to check with my buddy and see if he still needs help with doe management on his farm.

Looks good to me, but having the taxidermist double check is a good idea if he can. Might want to rewrite the measurements on a fresh piece of paper before posting score. Otherwise, people will give you some good-natured crap about it.

Hey guys, we are off to a great start! Let's not forget that to win the contest, we need to be shooting does or a second buck if legal for you. Even with great bucks down, the contest is more than that. Let's keep rolling guys!

Don't worry about it! Your season may have been over fast but you had a good one. It is not your fault that the laws in Nevada give you less opportunity than in other parts of the country. If you are feeling really ambitious, could see if Idaho or Arizona has any OTC tags left.

Put in my time off request for the week of November 9-13. If I do not go to Missouri, I will still take that whole week off and bow hunt around Arkansas before the gun season starts. That is typically when buck movement is the best. Nov 7 and 8 is the youth weekend, so I will stick around for that and head to MO late Sunday or Monday depending on how it goes for my son that weekend and if I feel comfortable leaving town.

I totally understand. I was working on my master's degree from 2016-2018. During that time my wife and I bought a house, her a new-to-us car, paid cash for the degree and went from 1 to 3 kids after an adoption and a surprise pregnancy and went from two incomes to one since she has been a stay-at-home mom for the last three years after the youngest was born. Sometimes life just gets crazy. Hunting is great, but taking care of the family responsibilities always comes first.

    Biggest buck to date.
73 yard double lung, watched him tip over in less than 75 yards! I have the two photos with the bow and will get it scored soon enough. Been a long couple of days and out here for another 6 days. And my buddy just shot a great looking 5x5 an hour ago!

Congrats! That is a good mule deer. I am guessing he is in the 140s.

As a member of an opposing team I have to say that what you have there looks to be about 50 points too high.

As the sucker running the contest I have to say that I wish you'd post the freakin' score so I could stop having to go back and check your scorecard entry post.

Congratulations again on a fantastic buck!
