Well extremely disappointed with the card check today. No shooter bucks at all, but a lot of does. Also got smokey on camera leading to me picking up a bear tag. :tu:

After checking the cams, I scouted some public ground. Saw a couple of good spots on the topo and 10 minutes into the hike I jumped up a nice buck. Had a steep bank with a couple of beds along it with a creek at the bottom so Im going try to find out how to hunt this guy.

Will be getting a MD license as well and doing a couple of public hunts with my Dad so that should up my odds a little. Still extremely bummed about the cam check. I know they're out there so we will see what happens. Also got the Monster Raxx food plot prize today so I need to get that in the ground ASAP.

Probably won't get anything done tomorrow due to football. :nana::woot:

Awesome Jim it doesn't get much better than hunting elk.

Having bear around makes hunting that much more fun hope he comes by your stand during season.

I still like the first avatar but if you guys want to change I'm good with it. I'll have a camera update thread in the camera section this evening. Still looking thru pics....... 5 cams with around 6000 pics  I can give a little teaser and say that Droopy is back hard antler :) Here is a link to an update awhile back with Droopy.

Welcome Cowboy! Well guys season gets under way here in WI on the 14th. Saying im pretty excited would be an understatement. Got a few bucks still showing themselves in daylight. Hoping the camera pull mid week here will keep with the same routine.

Can't wait for October 1st to get here! I am on my way to Vegas for the week for work and then I am getting married next weekend and then it's off to Punta Cana for a week and then it's time to put down a deer! This is by far the least I have shot my bow in any year. Turns out wedding prep takes rank. Good luck to you all starting soon!

Season in ND opened a week ago last Friday. I have only been out once due to family activities and heat. Next time I can get out will be Thursday and Friday mornings. It should be in the low 50s to start those days. Hope to see some bucks out there. Only does and fawns so far.

Good luck out there. Congrats on the upcoming wedding as well.

Sept. 28th for me! Hoping the weather cools off soon and we desperately need some rain. Plots aren't looking good. I'm about half tempted to haul some water for the small plots....

Cowboy, I am pretty pumped to say the least. It should be a good opener. It is suppose to dip into 40's at night and low 60's during the day. GOing to do a cam pull this week and adjust accordingly!

Our opener in Minnesota is Saturday. Not gonna hit it to hard though, getting ready for the Medora trip the following Thursday. Hoping the badlands of ND produce some good whitetail. And I finally got the Pike County Illinois trip planned. Gonna be down there the week of October 19th. So it all gets started for me this Saturday and hopefully gets better and better as the season rolls on. Hoping for my biggest buck yet.
