He went another 35 yards, got the liver. He died within a few hours of shot. his organs were cold when I gutted him.

Okay fellas, need some help picking a good stand for the rut. Here's a layout of the property with the confirmed bedding areas circled in blue. Ignore the red circles.

I was out tonight and saw a lot of activity in all of the fields at last light. Also, there was a possible shooter in the middle smaller fields and most likely came from the East field. Scrapes and rubs are all around the fields as well.

The question is where would you guys hunt? Hunt the fields or hunt in the woods? I haven't touched the Northeast corner of the property so maybe that would be a good spot? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I think I would be hunting the tips of one of those fingers in the middle. Looks like a good place to set up a decoy call in deer etc!

    Best of luck

I'll be back out after gun season. Will be trying for some sort of buck that is still out there. Hopefully the great pumkins missed all of them.

Sounds like there weren't many rifle hunters out there this year. the number of licenses available were down considerably this year so I think that really slowed them down. Groups of guys that usually hunt together could not all get tags so I think the rest of them didn't go out either. I hope it lets the herd get back to where it was a few years ago now.

Anyway, I hope to still be able to add some points. You all have done a great job.

How is everything going for everyone?? Just need one more deer to eclipse that 1000 mark! I have never been on a team that has got a 1000 points so hopefully we can do it. It feels good to be first for now! I am headed back to Adams County for the weekend to hopefully get a doe, coyote, or turkey! Best of luck and stay safe if you'll be out!

well fellas heres my contribution for this year unless i can find time to get out late season for a doe or two. i hunted hard these last 2 weeks but it has payed off. shot him on 11/12/13 at 9:15am. he was with a doe but decided to check a scrape 25 yds from my tree and that was his last mistake. he scores 132 1/4" and is my 2nd biggest buck ever so i'm happy with him. great job so far team and lets keep it going.

Wow! First place, let's keep it going. Another rough year for me with getting no buck. I've been SO close to take an 8 but he's just elusive.

Yesterday hunted the back corner of my property and had a ton of opportunities but they were all small bucks that need time. I'm out in a plot the 8 has been chasing in but it's 60° so we will see.

Hopefully we maintain 1st, I'll do my best to get us a nice cushion. I can still use a bow in rifle season, which I'll be doing.

What a horrible feeling. Set up in a clover field on the ground. It was 60° so I really wasn't expecting much.

30 minutes later 5 does and this buck walked out. Buck was around 35 yards away but as soon as they walked out the doe picked me out. She stared me down then left with the buck following. I have no idea how she saw me but she did and I'm feeling like complete crap.

Last day of bow but I'll have it back out during PA rifle.
