Adding both of the Jims' deer, we are in first!! Outstanding job fellas.

Im hoping to add some more points. Will be taking off work the 4th, 8th and have Veterans Day off as well. Good luck to the rest of you still grinding it out. Good luck and shoot straight.

    Also, enjoy that tenderloin. :tu:

#1, wahoo! Great job everyone. Congrats Jimmy, nice buck.

I had at least 8 different deer at 20 yards or less tonight. 3 little bucks and the rest does and fawns. I'm using a new ground blind and have to say I'm pretty pleased with it. I set it more than a week ago and the deer don't seem to even know it's there. It must hold my scent pretty well too. Three of the does came in down wind of me and never reacted. With my balance problems I think I am converted from tree stands to blinds. Just not comfortable in a tree any more.

I'll be back in the blind in the AM waiting for a bigger buck to walk by. They are starting to be a bit more aggressive now so may get lucky.

    Good luck all.

Dang guys we are doing really well. I about had a crack at a turkey last Saturday but other than that I haven't been out since. It has been raining non stop in Central Illinois but I am hoping to get out tomorrow night and this weekend. I want a coyote and turkey to complete my bow season.

    Keep up the good work!

Hey guys! Checking in from the stand. Temp is 47 with a 10mph SSW wind. Perfect for my ridge top setup. Scrapes behind me and to my front at 30 yds.
Good luck to all who is out! I'll update later.

Pretty quiet in the woods this morning. Haven't seen a thing. 34* with light wind frw west. Had to sit my least favorite stand with this wind. Should be swit hing to SE wind this eve. Good for the blind with all the doe ans small buck activity. The big boys should be showng up on the does trail soon so I'm hoping at least. Just may have to settle for a doe this year.

    Good luck and shoot straight.

Saw about 6 does this morning but no buck following them. It's been pretty quiet since but I'm here until sundown. Still have plenty of time.

Here is my view for this evening. Movement has been slow. Most of the bigger bucks are locked with the early does. Seen the 11 pt guarding a bedded doe in the field I am hunting close to. About 400 yds from my stand now. Hoping they decide to take a little stroll soon.[IMG]

Things have been really slow in Central Illinois. Went out a couple times this weekend and didn't see a whole lot of movement. Action should be picking up in the next week or two and I will be sure to have a front row seat in the stand to watch it all take place!

Back on the Rut Ridge this morning. Its a little warmer than I would like but movement should be good. Not sure if the deer like this unusual east wind. Droopy came by this stand Sunday evening checking scrapes and bumping does. We'll see what happens.

He is a good looking buck! Will you shoot him if he walks by?

Things are starting to pick up a little in PA. Last night had two small bucks within range. One walked right under me, heading toward the other buck. After some intense staring the smaller buck took off through the field. The buck that ran him off looked to be a shooter (actually small six) so I gave him a couple grunts, turning him in my direction. After making a couple of scrapes and rubs he headed toward me and turn broadside at less that 15.

It sucks that neither of those were shooters but Im liking the activity and will have a 4 day weekend (3 days to hunt) so lets hope a buck comes cruising by.
