That's a tall rack PA, congrats again on the great buck! I got my doe all butchered up today. I still have a few steaks to trim, but it's nice having that chore done already. More work tomorrow, but it's looking like Friday will be an all day sit, if the forecast holds out... or even if it doesn't! We're on a roll now boys, let's keep it up!
Ok guys finally got him back from the processor and measured. His long main beams helped his score a bit. He's 107 6/8 gross B and C. Will enter him on the registration page in a few.
Congrats Doug!!! I didnt see the post on the main forum??? Great buck and it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy
Thanks Guys ! Congrats to you too Chris and Tony! I wish I could talk the landowner into letting me shoot a doe, but I'll most likely head to Game Lands to get one.... hopefully. I really wish I could have filmed that night you wouldn't believe how this buck was acting. Actually how all the bucks were acting. Was real cool to see.
Nothing really new to update. Sightings have dropped off considerably in the past few days. Tonight is my last sit of the season. Tag soup for me most likely.
Thanks. With the warm temps, and the sightings down, it's not looking good. I still have two weeks of rifle starting after Thanksgiving, and then our late archery season, but in PA where I live, if you don't tag out in early season archery, you're hopes of doing so drop of considerably. I had a pretty good season sightings wise, and the experiences were pretty intense. I blew two shots at good bucks, so I have no one to blame for not filling my tag by myself.
Don't be to hard on yourself MGH it happens to everyone at some point. I went out with the camera Sat(last day) and your prediction was right too warm, as I never saw a deer.First time all year I didn't see anything. Heading this morning to pull stands as we may not get another chance until the snow flies, due to bear season and gun season being right around the corner. We decided to pull them asap. Hang in there PA guys, there is always late season. I know it's hard to score late, but it does produce some big bucks at times.
I will be in a tree during rifle season guaranteed. Whether I'm toting a rifle or a bow has yet to be determined.
Well boys, I'm experiencing one of my worst archery seasons in years. PA has been a total bust, MN fell apart due to a historical weather event occuring while we were out there, and MD has never happened because I started a new job and don't have the time to travel. I'll likely hit MD this weekend to give it a shot now that PA is closed for bucks. I'll have a gun during gun season and still give it a go in late season if that doesn't pan out. I hope everyone else has or had better luck than me.
Since we're on the second page, and there hasn't been another post in almost three weeks, I thought I would give an update. Our two week rifle season opened this past Monday, and yesterday I put down a decent 8 point at 30yds. I believe I saw him earlier during archery in the same plot trailing a doe. Although he doesn't get us any points, I'm happy to end this up and down season with a positive note, not to mention it feels good to take another deer off of a plot that I spent plenty of hot afternoon hours on throughout the off season.
