    Maybe not bending at the waist? You got the miss out of the way....they best not come back there again!

    Are you bending at the waist when you shoot from stand? Or just lowering your bow arm? If lowering your arm it will cause you to shoot high. With my sight set at 20 I barely notice a difference at 10.

    That would be my guess. It's easy to forget that step. I always draw like I would in the yard and once at full draw I mentally think about bending instead of being lazy and dropping my arm. I spines a deer due to that and I never want to watch a deer kick around on the ground like that again.

    Good luck, you will kill a deer next time!!!!

    Want to go back in the morning, but I think that field edge spot is better for evenings.

    I have used one only a few times and with mixed results. Does are usually the ones who get ticked off at the decoy. I've had yearling and two year olds walk feet from the decoy and not care. I let my buddy borrow it and had a big boy almost destroy it when the buck saw him drawing back in the tree. I'd say go for it if you've got the right area and spot for it

    Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what I forgot to do the morning of the 5th when I shot right over that bucks back. I KNOW to bend at the waist. I just got so rattled that I forgot about my form. I won't make that mistake again. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of other mistakes I'm capable of making this season. :sad;

    I'm heading to Wyoming tonight....I will probably not be back on here until the 28th. Apparently there isn't any cell service in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming ...shocking I know...Hopefully I'll have pics to post when I get back

    Where are you going in Wyoming? I used to go there on a rifle hunt every year. It was near Alva.

    I got my first sit of the year in last evening. I set up in a pinch along the creek on my place. It was raining slightly off and on and there were some pretty strong winds. I had two does come down the trail from down wind of me, but they were moving pretty quickly. Probably because of the weather. It was good to see movement on my land though since my deer numbers are so down this year.

    This morning I headed out at around 10:00 to hand a stand on a piece of public ground that I had previously scouted. I was about halfway up the tree when I heard some guys talking coming down the fence line. I noticed they were dragging something. They stopped long enough to let me know they had a stand about 40 yards away. I had scouted that area last weekend and there was nothing in the area. They kinda sounded like they were miffed I was there. It's public land, that's going to happen. Anyways, I noticed they were dragging a yearling doe. The regulations on this piece of public land specifically says you cannot use your archery antlerless tag. You can only use your any deer tag. You can only fill one any deer tag before the November rifle season, so the odds of these guys actually burning that tag are unlikely. I wanted to tell them I wasn't worried about their stand because at least one of them wouldn't be able hunt again until after rifle season. I guess I shouldn't worry about what other people are doing but it just pisses me off when people break the rules. I don't agree with that particular regulation, but it's the rules and I will continue to follow them.

    Just had to vent a little.

    Sit number two tonight. Sitting in the stand I hunt this morning on public ground. Had a doe and fawn out in the beans by 5:00, so that's a good sign. Here's the views from the stands.

    Thanks! He's kind of dumb! He got bigger since last year so I think he's high on the list. I love his g3s!

    Just want to take a second to remind everyone to please please please take two photos with bow and yourself in the pictures. Just looking at some of the stuff in the scorecard now, and it's a bit of a joke. I understand that it may not be on the top of everybody's priorities, but what is the purpose of joining a contest if you can't do it right?

    Anyway, good luck El Capitan!

    That's a nice buck Dan! He's at least 4. Probably around 140

    I'd say that's close. I was thinking low 140s myself. And yes it is very easy to take 2 pics with gear and animal. Let's not make it hard on Fitz!
