Well I just got back from my 2 week vacation in Tennessee. I planted 2 food plots before I left and hung a couple stands. I don't really hunt seriously here in PA but I do like to go out and sit in a stand and unwind. I got the bow out and did a little practicing in the basement yesterday and everything is dialed in. I have a fishing trip planned in Canada in the next few weeks then I can concentrate on my hunting trip to Kansas at the end of next month.
Once I'm out of work this evening. I'm heading home to pull out all my public gear. In the morning, I'm heading to a honey hole on public land that's 3 miles in. Doe finally opened today. So, any deer is legal now! Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk
Did some tinkering with my elk hunting pack last night and figured out how to make it work to carry my saddle set up. The spot I am hunting next week is 3/4 of a mile in from the parking and requires going over a 300 foot ridge. I don’t think I want to drag a deer out from there. I may just go in with the elk pack, or, leave it in the truck, take in my light pack and go back if I need to pack one out.
My 7 year old shot his first deer yesterday evening with a crossbow. We recovered it this morning he shot her back but we found her, Boone just wondered up on her as I was blood trailing. I’m so proud of him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Nice I wish I had a saddle setup. Would definitely be a lot easier to carry in than my big Ole clunky climber. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk
Hopefully I’m heading out tomorrow evening to my brothers place to try and get a chance at a doe Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Congrats to your son Hall! I’ve been trying to get my middle two kids their first deer the last couple years. Great to make those memories and pass on the hunting tradition
I say we make this our team avatar. Of the folks who voted this had the most votes. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk
