Let's put the smack down on'em this season! I'm Nick, I hunt out of the coastal area of South Carolina. I've been out a few times this year already. My season opened August 15th for Buck, I'll be hitting public land on September 16th for the first time in 2 years. I got one good one that's running around but I don't believe that he is sticking around. I'm currently in Alaska finishing up my honeymoon, and will hopefully be back in sunny SC on Thursday morning, bar no delays from the storm that's heading up the coast. I plan to hit the woods on Saturday!

Archbunk checking in. I'm Aaron, live and hunt in SW Michigan. Bow season opens Oct 1. We do have an early doe season here in sept. If I do hunt the early season it will mainly be to get my kids on some deer. Otherwise I usually don't hunt much until late oct and early nov. I don't have too many vacation days left so will be hunting Saturdays mainly.

Checking in. My name is Adam. I live in Little Rock, AR and primarily bow hunt public land in central Arkansas. Occasionally, I meet up with @LittleChief either in his MO camp or at his club in Arkansas when he comes down. Not sure if I will be going to MO this year or not, my wife started a job at a new school this year and I will be having to take a couple of extra days off to be home with our kids while she is working, so I may not have the extra vacation time to hunt out of state this year. However, I have almost 300 hours of sick leave to burn. There will be days of "buck fever" if we get a good October cold front.

Hey guys, I'm checking in. My name is Tim and I'm from NE PA. I hunt in PA but do most of my serious bowhunting during the rut in Kansas. I usually spend 3 to 4 weeks a year hunting Kansas. It will be an interesting year this year as the farmer told me he intends to put cows around all my main stands this year, hopefully it won't hurt me too bad. Looking forward to swapping stories with you guys this fall.

I actually use to hunt a cow farm in Maryland when I lived there and I noticed it never bothered the deer too much. The deer would stay more toward the edges of fields and fences, and every once in a while I'd see them near each other. The cows will tend to bring a calm presence for the deer and help with spooking.

That's good to know. I'm thinking that it may reduce the number of deer I usually see but I still should see bucks cruising through the area.

It most likely will as some deer might not want to cross a fence(assuming you'll have electric fence wire) but, I've also seen were the opposite has happened and seen a whole ton. Really depends on how you set up on the fields. But it can be some of the best hunting. If you put all that time in I'd be willing to bet you'll have a great season there.

My name is Nick I hunt Western Kentucky. This year I hope to be able to put a lot more time on stand. I’ve been traveling for work the past couple years now I’m home so hopefully I can contribute to the team. Have several good deer to hunt this year. [IMG]

Most of our lease has cows on it. What I’ve noticed is that the deer don’t mind the cows to much but they never seem to get to close to them in the field. I never really hunt the field that much 95% of the time I’m in the woods and the cows don’t come in the woods that often so it doesn’t bother the deer at all that I’ve noticed in the woods but SC I’m sure is a lot different than Kansas

Hey guys, glad to be part of the team this year!

This will be the first year in a while that I don’t travel out of state to hunt. With that said, I do have access to a number of pretty good farms here in Illinois that I’ll be spending time on this year. There are quite a few good deer this year that I have access to hunt, and one very special buck that I plan to put some serious time in pursuing.

My wife and I close on another new farm next week as well that’s in a great neighborhood, I should be getting cameras up there soon and taking inventory to see what’s living there as well. I look forward to hearing everybody’s updates and hope you all have a great season!

Congrats on the new farm. I hope you kill one bigger than the avatar buck off of it.
