I will be checking trail cams this weekend they have been out since June I haven't been out to the farm since besides driving by the fields. Hoping for some good pics. I'll share the good ones with the group.
I ended up only catching one shark yesterday but it was a good one! 9ft Lemon shark, put up a hell of a fight. My arm is still sore this morning. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I will admit though I said no mas the last few minutes of the fight. I was absolutely gassed and our guide wanted to take pictures for his website and wanted the sharks head out of water. Sharks are very heavy and strong and he didn't want to come out of the water lol. So I handed the rod to my father in law to get pictures. He's the short guy in the last couple of pictures Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
here are some pics from my cameras that I pulled this past weekend as you can see not shortage of deer just a matter of getting a big one in range hoping to let the 9 walk this year even though he is very tempting I think he has the potential to be a true giant in the coming years we will see if I can restrain myself given the opportunity in one of the pictures there are 10 bucks in it on the right side of the picture is a big mature 8 he is my main focus for now in my book he is a stud
Awesome pics man! That is a big 8, hope you knock him down this year Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
so the big 8 I'm referring to in in the picture dated 8/05/17 time 17:16:53 he is the second buck from the right in the picture
I sure hope so too there will be more like him that show up on this property in late October through November its always a waiting game
Finally some good bucks somewhere, haven't seen much. Glad to see someone on our team is seeing something Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
My number 1 is still hanging around too. The only daylight pic I have of him this year Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Wow that's a dandy... I saw a good one last night about 500yds out in the field behind my house. I've been waiting for the neighbor to get home so I can ask to hunt the property that borders where I saw the deer. It's about a 10 acre swamp I'm sure the deer are in there just not sure of any good trees to get a stand in. All white birch for the most part Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yep, he has been my nemesis for four years now. He's actually the first mature, big buck, I got on camera when I started using trail cams. This is only the fifth daylight picture I have of him. Once a year, always early season, never during the rut. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
If you know where he is bedding a risky and bold tactic that I know works its just a matter of being ready for the moment, is to stalk up to the edge of the bedding area disperse some rutting buck scent grunt, scape the ground loudly, rub a set of antlers on a small tree give him the sounds the smells of another buck infringing on his territory and a lot of times they come over to check it out if only for a second but you gotta have a good little hide and be ready. I have done that several times a few unsuccessful however always pulled a buck or two in just not the one I wanted or I have gotten busted. It is how I killed my ten pointer last year I had 0 day light pics but with a few camera sets I was sure of where he kept bedding and I used a creek to crawl into position raked leaves around grunted sprayed buck urine in the air and he cautiously came to the edge of the cedars looked around started raking a tree himself and I stuck him he walked about 5 yards grunted pawed the ground and tipped over. If all else fails sometimes you gotta go seal team six and take em out in their bedroom. There is kind of a magical time frame that that tactic works really well and in Missouri about the last week of October is best seems like right around then they are wanting to get he rut going but the does just aren't ready so they have pent up aggression and are establishing their turf. Not everyone wants to try it or has the right scenarios to try it but it can be effective to get those smart ones on their feet in daylight to check their perimeters.
That's a hell of a tip, never thought of that. I will have to try that! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
