Cooled down here, finally got my antler less tags. I'll be hunting most evenings now. Good luck to the rest of you guys hunting.
I'm in Hanover.... 1 of my favorite spots to hunt (when I did in Md) was Hanover Watershed which is like 7mins from my house. Mt.Airy my Mother In Law lived right there by the Ford dealership (Century I believe) it was across from the baseball fields and where they held the Carnival and where all the Townhomes are... she retired from Social Security 8yrs ago and then moved up here in McSherrystown. When we moved up here 14 years ago we were looking at getting a new townhome built there but it was just to close to her and we didn't want that Small world isn't it.... I had to go to the men's room early in the morning and when I got back in bed I was reminded of a few things I still needed to get out and ready for tomorrow (Saturday). So I was running around here this morning when the kids were getting ready for school getting it all ready. 1. Was a extra strap for my Son once in the tree 2. My tree hooks for my backpack and also bow once up in the tree (even though the stands have been hung for a few months now I didn't place hooks up there, probably will just leave them there after tomorrow) 3. Ratchet straps for my carrier on the back of my truck (I'd hate to harvest a deer and not have it secured to the carrier ) 4. My Wife got me a 3 in 1 light last season for around my head for those early morning walk in's. (And of course I had to find where I placed it after last season and if it still worked) found it and still works, I'll let my son wear it once we get to the tree so he can see where he's climbing. 5. Charged my flood lights, always need plenty of light for those late evening hunts where you score but need to let sit for a bit and go in and retrieve with the flood light in the pitch black. And here I thought I was plenty ready ... double check the little things is all I can say.... Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I always forget something on my 1st sit of the season. This year it was just my camera so no big deal lol.
Went out Thursday afternoon, had to quit early when a storm rolled through with strong wind and rain. Did see four does and fawns when I was walking out. Yesterday afternoon was better . Sat on edge of a corn field, had a few does and fawns go by in bow range, just decided not to shoot one yet. Deer really seemed spread around, some were eating in the corn, some eating in a pasture and some in a soybean field. Plus with the acorns, I'm sure some just stayed in the woods.
My first sit of the season a couple years ago, I got about 3/4 of the way to the farm (I live an hour away) i forgot my broadheads had to make a quick stop at walmart Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Just stuck an arrow in my top hit list buck! Shot might have been a hair high so we might give him the night. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
How's the yote problem out there, if you think you a hair high I don't think I could wait. How'd the arrow look. Best of luck can't wait to hear Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Back home for the night. Arrow is still in him. Followed blood blood to the edge of the woods and called it off for the night. He ducked the arrow hard and on video looks like only 1 lung. Hopefully we can find him before the coyotes. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
